The 2013 edition of the annualAbuja International Film Festival(AIFF) has kicked off.
The event organised by Nollywood producerFidelis Dukeropened in Abuja on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, with an anniversary ceremony celebrating ten years of the film festival.
Hosted by actor Segun Arinzethe event was attended by key Nollywood players and stakeholders in the industry including the minister for Tourism,Edem Duke,Helen Otagbor,Charles Novia,Iyen Agbonifo, Emeka Ossai,Andy Ameachi, andPrince Emeka Mba.
Others guests include Bimbo Manuel,Aminu Kura,Lancelot Imasuen,Jumai Joseph,Cynthia Agholor, Yakub Tanko Abdulahi,Mike Nliam,Ahmed DelutuandSally Mbanefo.
The Minister for Tourism, Edem Duke who supervised the cutting of the anniversary cake congratulated the organizers led by Fidelis Duker, while encouraging more dedication and hard work towards the growth of Nollywood.
Some Nollywood veterans and supporters including Rasheed Gbadamosi, Charles Novia, Hazeez Balogun and Fred Amata were awarded with medals of honour for their contribution to the Nigerian film industry.
The AIFF runs from Tuesday September, 24, to Thursday September, 27, 2013.
