Julius Agwu Steps Down For Rotimi Amaechi In Guber Elections?

After declaring his intentions to run for the Governorship position in Rivers state a couple of months ago, ace comedian Julius Agwu reportedly stepped down from contesting for the seat of the governor of the state. According to reports from thenetng, in a statement released by Julius Agwu’s manager Prince Sunday Uwem, “There was a meeting (Thursday, October 30) between Julius Agwu and his kinsmen from Ikwere, and it was agreed that he should step down from the governorship race because the current Governor Rotimi Amaechi is his friend and they are both from the same area. They’ll want the position to rotate to another part of the state and Julius Agwu has decided to listen to his people and withdraw from contesting.”

This announcement is coming a few days after Julius Agwu insinuated that he had been getting calls from certain political groups who were pressuring him to join them so as to guarantee his success in polictics. The latest development now is that, Julius Agwu who is in the USA for an event stated that though he had been receiving calls from some to not run, his plans to be governor is not on hold. “I am damn serious about my political ambition. I am not stepping down. I used my last show in Abuja to declare my intention” Will he still contest or not? That the question on a lot of our minds right now. But I Guess we’d have to wait and see.
