Super Eagles and Fenerbache striker, Emmanuel Emenike, is set for a spell on the sidelines after cupping a groin injury on Thursday during a training session with his Turkish club.
The injury setback means the Nigeria forward has been ruled out of this weekend’s clash away at Balıkesirspor after he underwent an MRI scan on his groin.
It is not clear how long Emenike will be out of action but there are fears he could be out for between two-four weeks.
The 27-year-old forward, who has struggled for form for both national team and club, will again be slowed down by the latest development
Emenike has only scored twice for the Turkish Champions in 11 games in the league and has not scored for the national team in over a year.
Shockingly, Emenike’s strike partner, Pierre Webo, was also injured in Thursday’s training session thus leaving Fenerbache with fewer options upfront.
Fenerbache are currently third in the Super Lig; two points behind fierce rivals Besiktas.
