Popular Yoruba actor, Mufutau Sanni Abdulahi, known as Ajigijaga, is dead, according to the president of The Golden Movie Ambassadors of Nigeria, Comrade Saidi Balogun.
He was born to the Abdulahi family in July 15, 1955 in Ogun State, Nigeria. The popular actor died yesterday morning at his Oko-Oba residence, Agege, Lagos, following injuries he sustained in an okada accident about two weeks ago. In a chat with Saturday Telegraph, veteran actor, Chief Kehinde Akinremi aka Kanran, said the news of Ajigijaga’s death was so sad, describing him as one who had contributed greatly to the Yoruba film industry. He said: “Broken bottle Ajigijaga that I know was an easy going person and cool headed, but he does not like to be cheated or people around him to be cheated. He fights for the interest of fellow actors and he can assist people to a fault.
He started acting and film making in 1981.
He was a member of Guild of Actors, Directors, and Producers in Nigeria.
The actor made wave in the early 90’s in many Yoruba movies. He was famous for his roles as leader of criminal activities.
Apart from acting, Mr. Sanni was also an event manager.
