India’s first lady, Suvra Mukherjee died today August 18th at the age of 74. Mrs Mukherjee died from complications from a respiratory disorders at the Army Hospital, Delhi.
"Suvra Mukherjee died after a cardiac arrest. She was on ventilator till the time of her death," hospital PRO Sanjay Kumar said. She is survived by her husband, India's President Pranab Mukherjee, a daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee and two sons Abhijit Mukherjee and Indrajit Mukherjee.
She has already been laid-in-state where guests are paying their last respect at the presidential residence. She will be cremated tomorrow.
