
Gareth Bale has claimed he has not considered himself as a top choice of the FIFA Ballon d’Or despite having an impressive season.
The Welshman is included in the shortlist of candidates for the prestigious award due to his title-winning heroics with Real Madrid and efforts at the International scene with Wales at the Euro 2016 tournament in France.
However, the Real Madrid superstar has revealed he is not so keen on individual awards.

He said: “The Ballon d’Or has never been a personal goal for me. I never dreamed about winning the Ballon d’Or. I dreamed about winning Champions League and league titles,”
“If I win the Champions League and other titles, then individual awards will come, but it is not something I’m thinking about. Trophies for club and country come first for me,
“If it happens, it happens. If you play well for club and country, the Ballon d’Or will come. It is not something I am thinking about, but it would be fantastic if it happens.”
Bale has continued to impress with Madrid both in the La Liga and European scene.
