Evans gets new lawyer 103 days after the exit of former
After 108 days, suspected billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike alias Evans, has finally appointed a new lawyer to handle his case at a Lagos High Court in Igbosere, Lagos Island. Evans had been without a lawyer since January 31, after former counsel Mr Olukoys Ogungbeje and Mr Chino Obiagwu SAN withdrew from the case following disagreements.

Evans’ arraignment on fresh charges stalled


The arraignment of suspected billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, on two separate charges before Justice Adedayo Akintoye of a Lagos High Court sitting at Igbosere was, yesterday, stalled as the prosecutor is yet to complete service on the defendants counsel. Evans was charged alongside Joseph Ikenna Emeka, Victor Aduba and Okpara Linus. The defendants are being charged with five counts bordering on conspiracy to kidnap, kidnapping and attempted murder, preferred against them by Lagos State.

Evans Pleads Guilty, Remanded In Kirikiri Prison


Billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, otherwise known as Evans, has pleaded guilty to allegations leveled against him at the Ikeja High Court on Wednesday.

The kidnap kingpin pleaded guilty to the kidnapping and conspiracy charges leveled against him at the Lagos court.

Police arrest woman who helped billionaire kidnapper, Evans to escape in 2006!


The woman accused of aiding suspected kidnap kingpin Chukwudumeje George Onwuamadike aka Evans to escape justice in 2006 is still in the police, The Nation reports. It was gathered that the woman, simply identified as Tina, is now a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). She was unmasked by a Special Investigation Panel (SIP) constituted by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris to probe Evans’ 2006 arrest, transfer from Lagos State to Imo State and eventual release. After the suspect’s arrest last month, a senior police officer told reporters that his team apprehended Evans in 2006 after a bank robbery. The officer had claimed that Evans and his gang members had a gun duel at the National Theatre in Surulere, Lagos Mainland after a disagreement in sharing their loot, adding that the kingpin was shot and left to die.

Billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike aka Evans, says he is not aware of the two fundamental Human rights lawsuits filed on his behalf by one lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, against the IGP and three others. The lawyer had approached the Federal High Court in Lagos last week claiming that Evans had asked him to challenge his continuous detention without trial by the police. But Evans says he's not aware of this.

Details of the Nigerian lawyer who is defending alleged billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike aka Evans has been revealed. Just when Nigerians thought no lawyer will step out to defend notorious billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike a.k.a. Evans, Voice Olukoya Ogungbeje has proven an exception. Ogungbeje who heads Lawflex Chambers and is the Chairman of Voice Vanguard, stepped out Wednesday. He grabbed the headlines as he filed a fundamental rights suit on behalf of Evans, by dragging the Inspector General of Police, and three others before a Federal High Court in Lagos over Evans alleged illegal detention . Joined as respondents are the Nigeria Police Force, Commissioner of Police Lagos State, and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Police Command.

The owner of Maydon Pharmaceutical Company, Ilupeju, Lagos, Chief Donatus Dunu, who escaped mysteriously from the den of Evans’ kidnapping gang at Igando, a suburb of Lagos, before the gang was rounded up by the police, yesterday, lamented that the recent release of his workers suspected to have taken part in his abduction has placed his life in danger. Chief Dunu who was troubled by the development told newsmen that it was improper for either the police or the court to grant bail to suspects involved in such a high profile case where startling revelations of the leader of the dangerous kidnapping gang has continued to shock the world. Security agencies in Bayelsa State are investigating the identity of Suoyo mentioned by the notorious billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeje Onwuamadike, aka Evans, as one of his gang members in the state. Evans, in one of his numerous confessional statements, named Suoyo as one of the active members of his gang, who had the assignment of buying arms and ammunition for their operations. He said: “When Suoyo, who lives in Bayels State, called me and expressed fears, I also assured him that nothing was going to happen. I told him I was making plans for another operation and needed him to go into the creeks and buy a new set of arms and ammunition”.

Ace comedian and actor, Ali Baba, has angrily reacted to the calls for arrested billionaire kidnapper, Chikwudubem Onwuamadike aka  Evans' to be freed from detention.
In the post, which he shared on Instagram, the comedian also spoke on some of the societal issues facing the nation

Evans obtained Ghana Passports for himself & family with fake, different names


Notorious kidnap kingpin Evans fraudulently secured Ghanaian passports for himself, his wife and his children with fake names. Evans was issued with a Ghanaian passport this year under a fake name, Asare Nelson in Accra. Documents sighted by Joy News indicate that his wife and two children are also in possession of Ghanaian passports.

Billionaire kidnapper, Evans’ wife hasn’t visited home since she got married – Brother


The elder brother of Mrs. Uchenna Precious Onwuamadike, wife of the dreaded kidnap kingpin, Mr. Chidumeme Onwuamadike, a.k.a Evans, Mr. Chukwuemeka Okoye said yesterday that his sister has not visited her village at Awo Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State since she got married in 2006. He told Vanguard yesterday that even when their father died in 2014, Uchenna, who is the last of 13 children of the Okoyes, and her husband, Evans, did not attend the burial . He said that he has not been communicating with his sister even on telephone, adding that he does not even know that she is married with five children. When shown the photograph of his sister and her five children, Chukwuemeka, a farmer and a daily paid job man at Oraifite market said he would not be able to identify his brother in-law, Evans, if they meet. I Gave My Father N3m, SUV And A Hilux Van - Billionaire kidnapper, Evans spills more!


Suspected kidnap kingpin Chukwudumeje George Onwuamadike alias Evans, yesterday claimed he gave his father N3million cash, a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and a Hilux Van before he stopped visiting his hometown, Umudim, Nnewi in Anambra State. Evans made the allegation when detectives took him to one of the dens his gang used for the detention of victims. The bungalow situated at Green Street, Jakande Estate, Isolo, was rented by the kingpin, through his gang members in 2010 and he paid the rent yearly.

A return visit to Akamili, Umudim in Nnewi, the home town of the dreaded kidnap kingpin, Mr. Chidumeme Onwuamadike, a.k.a Evans, has revealed that a magnificent property in the maiden home compound of his mother, Mrs. Chinwe Onwuamadike, was built by the mother. Inset: Mrs. Chinwe Onwuamadike. And following the large number of people trouping into the place, a directive has been given by leaders of the community to their people not to answer further questions from visitors concerning Evans and his family. The village had become a Mecca of sort since the arrest of Evans at his Magodo residence in Lagos, as visitors have been going to the area for one inquiry or the other.

According to New Telegraph, Evans further revealed that he had believed in the efficacy of the charms of his native doctor, based in Nnewi, Anambra State but didn't know it would fail when he needed it most. The native doctor, according to him, is a traditional ruler.

Chukwudi Dumeme Onuamadike a.k.a Evans, who is the leader of a notorious kidnap gang behind many abductions in Nigeria, and was paraded by the Police on Sunday, has made some shocking revelations. A suspected kidnap kingpin, Chukwudi Dumeme Onuamadike, also known as Evans, who was arrested by the police in Lagos said on Sunday that he chose to collect ransom in American dollars to be different from other kidnappers. The suspect, while being paraded at the Lagos Police Command in Ikeja, told journalists that he started kidnapping in 2015, after he left his spare parts business, a claim that contradicted the police statement that he was declared wanted in 2013. He claimed that he lost N20 million to Customs officers, which made him to leave his trade. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the suspect was arrested in his mansion in Magodo area of the state on Saturday.
