Start Preparing To Leave Aso Rock - PDP tells Buhari


The Peoples Democratic Party has told President Muhammadu Buhari not to waste his energy on any “cosmetic campaign” for collection of Permanent Voter Card, insisting that the “failure” of his administration has provided enough stimuli for Nigerians to fully participate in the 2019 election. The party said President Buhari, by now, ought to have known that such “theatrics,” allegedly simulated by his “handlers,” cannot help his “self-destroyed public image” or reverse the determination of Nigerians to vote him out in 2019. National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, said in a statement in Abuja on Sunday, that Buhari declared his interest to run again some months back without engaging in voter education.

Meet US-based PDP Woman Who Wants Buhari's Job Come 2019 Election


A female Presidential aspirant of the PDP has indicated her interest to go after the position of the number one man in the country, come 2019. A U.S.-based woman, Princess Oyenike Oyedele Roberts, has declared for the presidency of Nigeria on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 presidential election. Nike Roberts, as she is called, while addressing supporters in New York, also dissociated herself from corruption, vowing never to accept any donation from corrupt Nigerians to fund her campaign. She said her aspiration was built on five-cardinal plans: Uninterrupted power supply, quality healthcare for all, creation of one million jobs annually, quality affordable education and security of lives and property. The PDP presidential aspirant, whose campaign slogan is ‘Hope 2019’, is the Vice Chair of Nigerian-American Public Affairs Committee and the President, Association of African Media Practitioners in the U.S.

The Peoples Democratic Party has debunked claims that it asked presidential aspirants to pay N12million to pick up forms. This was made via a statement signed by its National Organising Secretary, Austin Akobundu slamming a publication by a national newspaper titled ‘PDP list guidelines for presidential aspirants, demands N12m for forms. “We wish to state categorically that the Party is still in the process of drawing up the guidelines for its presidential primary election. It is therefore misleading to claim that the party has ‘listed its guidelines’ not to talk of the cost of nomination forms.

PDP Tackles Buhari: #NotTooYoungToRun Is Our Initiative


The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has lampooned President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for attempting to parade themselves as the architects of the ‘Not Too Young to Run Act’. A statement on Thursday by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan said the bill that culminated in the passage of the Act, was sponsored and pursued by PDP members in the National Assembly and State houses of assembly. The statement said, “It is instructive to note that President Buhari had no input whatsoever in the bill; never showed any support or enthusiasm towards the initiative and had no option than to perform a mandatory constitutional duty of assenting to the bill, as a clear reflection of the mood of the nation, given that the bill had already found an easy passage to the crucibles of the required approval of two-third of states in the federation.

PDP To Buhari: Stop The Secrecy, You're Unfit To Rule


President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday departed Abuja for London, the United Kingdom on yet another medical trip. This is just as the Peoples Democratic Party alleged that the President is unfit to continue in office. Buhari was accompanied to the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, by some top government officials and presidential aides. The President’s security officials and a few close aides accompanied him on the trip. The presidential aircraft marked 5N-FGW which conveyed the President left the airport at about 3.20pm. Those who saw the President off to the airport included his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari; the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Muhammad Bello, and the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

PDP Reacts To Release Of Dapchi School Girls By Boko Haram

The Peoples Democratic Party has reacted to the release of about 101 Dapchi school girls reportedly kidnapped by Boko Haram members in Yobe state. Reacting through its National Publicity Secretry, Kola Ologbondiyan on Wednesday, the party accused the Federal Government of staging the abduction and release of the girls.

Drama as PDP senators call APC ‘All Progressives Crisis’


There was a mild drama at the Senate on Tuesday over the National Executive Council meeting of the All Progressives Congress held in Abuja. Members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party mocked the APC over the current crises in the ruling party at the national level and in some states. The Majority Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan, had moved that the plenary be adjourned for the APC NEC meeting.

PDP Vows To Stop Killings, Poverty, Hunger In 2019


The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, yesterday, said his party would stop killings, poverty and hunger in the country if it returned to the Presidency in 2019. Secondus, who led members of his National Working Committee (NWC), to witness a mega rally in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, to mark the 6th anniversary of Governor Seriake Dickson administration, said the brooms of the All Progressives Party (APC) brought killings and vengeance to the country. The party chairman spoke at the Ox-Bow Lake Pavilion, Yenagoa, where party faithful and thousands of women, youths and elders in outfits with touch of red in the spirits of the Valentine, gathered to celebrate Dickson.

How PDP prevented Ekwueme from making Nigeria great – Tinubu


The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has claimed that Nigeria would have been a better place if the late former Vice-President Alex Ekwueme, was allowed to play his rightful role in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The Peoples Democratic Party has described the reported naming of President Muhammed Buhari as African Union anti-corruption champion as laughable, and derisory. The PDP added that Buhari’s appointment eminently qualified as Africa’s joke of the year. The party said it was clear that the AU leaders were not well briefed on happenings in Nigeria, including the alleged heavy sleazes going on around the Presidency. It said that the AU was misled by the Federal Government, which it said planned to use the naming as a face-saving stunt for the administration.

Newly Elected PDP Chairman Secondus Serves Buhari Quit Notice


The newly elected National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) , Uche Secondus has served a 'quit notice' to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC ) party from the Aso Rock come 2019 and affirmed his commitment to rebuild the party to take back power by 2019. He made this assertion while delivering his acceptance speech at the Eagle Square venue of the party's national convention in Abuja. He promised to rebuild, reposition and regain the lost glory of the party adding that the quit notice is immediate in order to save the country from disintegration. "We are all witnesses to how the unity of this country has been shaken to its very foundation under the watch of the ruthless and clueless APC. We, therefore, have a gigantic task of retrieving this nation from APC over its clear lack of direction and confusion starting with presidency.

I'm Ready to Die to Stop APC From Winning - Gov. Wike Fires Serious Warning Ahead of Elections

While speaking on his preparedness to defend his party’s votes with his life, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Sunday, gave an indication that the 2019 election in Rivers State could be as violent as previous elections.
According to a report by Premium Times, the chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who has been having a running battle in the state with his predecessor and current Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, said that he is ready to sacrifice his life to see that the All Progressive Congress, APC, does not come into power in the state.

Pro-Sheriff Rep Rejects PDP's Amnesty over 'Anti-party' Activities


A lawmaker who pledged fealty to the controversial former PDP leader, Ali Modu Sheriff has rejected amnesty over claims of not committing any wrongdoing. As the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party continues with efforts to rebuild the party, a member of the House of Representatives, Mr Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, has rejected the amnesty offered to him by the Senator Ahmed Makafi-led caretaker committee.

“PDP will take Nigeria out of one chance"-Fayose launches presidential campaign


With about a year to go as governor of Ekiti state, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, on Saturday stormed the non-elective convention of PDP with his presidential election campaign team. He confirmed his intention to contest the presidential election in 2019,when he and his campaign team arrived at the venue of the convention with banners and customized dresses. Fayose, whose governorship tenure ends in October 2018, also dressed in his presidential campaign shirt at the flag-off.

PDP Attacks Osinbajo, Calls Him a Figurehead

 
The main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, says Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is not in charge of the country.
It said actions taken by the Acting President had shown that power was not handed over to him contrary to the claim by the Presidency that ailing President Muhammadu Buhari ceded power to him (Osinbajo) before leaving Nigeria for London on medical trip more than 90 days ago.
