MASKED gunmen on Tuesday, attacked the home of a former acting governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Wenipreye Seibarugu, in Wenipreye Seibarugu the state capital.
Seibarugu was said to have sustained an injury during the attack as he, his orderly and other occupants of the house chased after the assailants.
The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, was a two-time Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, deputy governor to Chief Timipre Sylva and an acting governor of the state.
It was learnt that the gunmen, numbering five, were reported to have invaded the home through the kitchen end of the house.
Sources said that the gunmen, who wore masks, were given a chase after Seibarugu’s wife sighted them from the kitchen and raised the alarm.
