Why Nigerians are experiencing fuel crisis- IPMAN

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, (IPMAN), has blamed the current fuel crisis on hoarding of the commodity by some depot owners and petroleum products marketers. In a statement by its National Secretary Mr Danladi Pasali on Thursday in Abuja, it lamented that in spite the availability of the products in the country, some depots owners took advantage of the high demand of the commodity to create artificial scarcity in order to dupe Nigerians. According to the statement, Pasali, speak after a brief meeting with officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) .

FG pays oil marketers N407bn subsidy to end fuel crisis

A statement from the Federal Ministry of Finance signed by Mr Marshall Gundu, Director, Press of the ministry said the Minister of finance Mrs Kemi Adeosun has confirmed the payment of subsidy claims to the tune of N407, 076,805,386.30 to the oil marketers. Adeosun noted that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed that the payments should be “made immediately in order to bring to a quick end the lingering fuel crisis which has caused great suffering to Nigerian families and businesses.”

Fuel Scarcity: FG Promises to Pay Marketers N156 Billion Today

Due to the fuel scarcity situation in most parts of the country, the federal government on Wednesday promised to pay oil marketers N156 billion as arrears of their subsidy claims. Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said the payment would be made today, Punchreports. She gave the assurance while speaking to newsmen in Abuja, after declaring open the 20th conference of Directors General of Customs of the World Customs Organisation.
