Lagos hairdresser commits suicide over disagreements with boyfriend



A resident of Fadausi Street, Ijeshatedo, Lagos State, Kenile Nwabuzor, has killed herself following protracted disagreements between her and her boyfriend identified as David. City Round gathered that the duo had endured an unhealthy relationship since they met about two years ago. Punch correspondent learnt that the matter came to a head on Thursday, April 11, 2019 when the 26-year-old hairdresser decided to commit suicide after David reportedly said he was no longer interested in the relationship.

Husband laments as Lagos hairdresser attempts suicide thrice over abducted children


The family of four-year-old Farouk and six-year-old Kafayat, are still in distress over the fate of the two children, who were abducted on November 28, 2016, by their mother’s apprentice, Gladys Austin. Their father, Fatai Azeez, said the family was at a loss because even after the arrest of Austin by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos, the suspect vehemently denied taking the children away. He alleged that a police officer in charge of the case at SARS told the family to forget about the children as Austin had been released. The mother of the children, Suliat, was said to have attempted suicide twice while in Lagos and was recently moved back to her hometown in Oyo State, where she allegedly attempted suicide again by taking Sniper. PUNCH Metro had been reporting the escapades of Austin since she allegedly abducted the two children last year.

NairaBet Agent commits suicide over N600k won bet


An agent of a sports betting platform, NairaBet has ended his life over his inability to pay a customer who allegedly won a N600,000 bet. Residents of Obadeyi Ajala woke up on Wednesday to find the deceased dangling from a rope in an uncompleted shop at Ajala bus stop, on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. The incident was said to have drawn a crowd to the area and a girlfriend of the deceased, who reportedly worked in a filling station in the area, was alerted. The lady reportedly passed out on sighting the body, but was revived by the sympathisers at the scene. A resident, Monday Gabriel, told Punch on the telephone that the lady gave an account of what could have prompted him to commit suicide.

Female Lagos Polytechnic Student Commits Suicide By Drinking "Sniper"


A student of Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Damilola Adegoke reportedly committed suicide by drinking "sniper" insecticide. It was gathered that on Tuesday, Damilola's mum returned home to find her daughter lying on the floor with an insecticide. Friends of the deceased have expressed shock over her sudden death. Lagos Hairdresser Commits Suicide Over N150,000 Loan


A hairdresser, Yetunde Oladipupo, aka Iyabo, has committed suicide on Onabola Street, Owotutu, in the Somolu area of Lagos State. According to Punch Metro,the deceased commited suicide by drinking sniper insecticide on Friday shortly after seeing off some friends who had visited her. Although the cause of the visit could not be ascertained by our correspondent, it was gathered that the mother of four went to a shop afterwards and bought the insecticide.

The University of Ibadan has released a statement on the shocking death of Miss Deborah Effiong Imabong, who until her death was a 100-level student of the Faculty of Law in the school. The death of Imabong has continued to generate dust over the shocking nature it happened. She was said to have committed suicide on Wednesday at Queen Elizabeth II Hall where a wild party was supposedly held.

Woman Who Tried To Commit Suicide In Lagos Charged


A 51-year-old textile dealer at Balogun Market, Taiwo Titilayo-Momoh, who attempted to jump into the lagoon on the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, was on Monday hauled up before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court. The accused, who was arraigned on a charge of attempting to commit suicide, pleaded not guilty. But the prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Omisakin insisted that the accused committed the offence on March 24 at about 10.00 a.m. on the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos. He said the businesswoman was, however, prevented by security operatives from committing suicide.

An American teen is dead after he accidentally shot himself while his friends watched on Instagram Live, according to local TV station WXIA. “I heard a big boom,” his mother Shaniqua Stephens said. “I couldn’t tell if it was a gunshot or what.”

11-yr-old Boy commits suicide over social media prank


An 11-year-old boy, Tysen Benz has committed suicide over a social media prank, his mother confirmed. He was put on life support on March 14 after attempting suicide in Marquette, Michigan. The boy died in hospital on Tuesday from his injuries. 'He impulsively chose to end his own life as a result of a horrific act of a social media prank which is under investigation by authorities,' Ms Goss said.
