Brazilian footballer under fire for kissing another man

A Brazilian footballer by the name of Emerson Sheik has come under public attack – especially on social media – for posting a picture of himself kissing another man.

The photo has sparked controversy in Brazil where homophobia is big.

He has been criticised on the Internet and supporters of the club he plays for Corinthians even went to the team's training ground to abuse him.

Meanwhile, Emerson ( real names Márcio Passos de Albuquerque) has come out to explain the picture, saying it was the product of a playful moment between him and his best friend.

He further explained that his girlfriend who is pregnant with his third child was present at the dinner where the picture was taken.
