Commercial Manager
Role Summary/Purpose
The Commercial Manager plays a key role in driving growth and margin expansion across several regional and global business streams. Primarily responsible for preparing bids and tenders for all ITT's (invitations to tender), preparation of quotes and orders, contract renewals, handover, contract management and execution. This role requires an ability to work closely with various support function teams to drive on time delivery and customer/business solutions.
Essential Responsibilities
•Review sales enquiries, allocate enquiry to relevant proposal coordinators
•Ensure bid/proposal tracking and risk tool processes are instigated and maintained
•Manage an effective document control system ensuring material relating to the customer is properly registered, circulated, controlled and easily accessible to the commercial team
•Schedule, participate and where appropriate lead kick-off meetings and commercial risk reviews (R0/R1/R2/RRC)
•Distribute documents as appropriate and co-ordinate responses within agreed schedule
•Issue clarifications to customers and distribute responses
•Build cost models to cover all elements of service proposals
•Ensure effective communication throughout proposal team and that the commercial manager is aware of any clarifications, qualifications and exceptions
•Assist with pricing strategy working with Pricing Leader and Sales
•Compile & issue proposals
•Provide support to sales and where necessary participate in negotiations
•Perform contract review and issue customer order acknowledgement
•When applicable, ensure service contracts are recorded in the Commercial Contracts Database
•Assist in driving Contract escalations for existing services long term agreements
•Prepare and conduct PO handover through the Inquiry to Order and Order to Remittance processes
•Provide accurate and timely reporting as required by customer and commercial team
•Track and manage variation order requests
•Make use of quote and order tracking tools and drive on time delivery
•Perform other duties as required to support commercial & operations teams in Region and Globally
Qualifications/Requirements
•Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or relevant business experience
•5+ years in a similar role in the Oil & Gas industry
•Familiarity with commercial models tools, including cost models and pricing strategies
•Basic understanding of manufacturing systems and active site operations
•Strong communicator, able to successfully manage multiple priorities for demanding internal and external stakeholders
•Excellent computing skills, particularly Microsoft Office, with Oracle knowledge an advantage
Desired Characteristics
•Experience with contract management and contractual terms
•Global experience in a similar role
•Certified 6 Sigma Green Belt (GE employees only)
•Familiarity with approaches to product maintenance (e.g. FMECA)
•Ablity to deliver a consistently high standard of accurate, timely and customer focused proposals.
