PHOTOS: Russell Brand buys Hollywood Hills mansion

Russell Brand has brought a $2.224 million mansion in Hollywood Hills West and the property boasts five bedrooms with five bathrooms and an amazing view of the Los Angeles skyline from the balcony.

The 38-year-old comedian's new home boasts high ceilings, white washed walls, five huge bedrooms with five bathrooms, and an amazing view of the Los Angeles skyline from his own balcony, which also has space to cater for outdoor dining. According to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, the property which spans across 4,800 square feet of interior space was built in 1926 and designed by architectRoy Selden Price.

Russell isn't the first celebrity to be housed in the gothic style home since late actor Laurence Olivier lived there in the early 1930s. This is the first property Russell has purchased since he split from ex-wifeKaty Perryin December 2011 citing irreconcilable differences in his divorced papers.
Katy – who was married to Russell for 14 months – recently sold a Mediterranean-style house she bought with the comic star in WestHollywood, California, for $5.988 million.

The luxurious seven-bedroom and nine-bathroom property is kitted out with ornate tiles, rod iron fixtures, curved ceilings and art glass windows and spans over 8,835 square feet.

Russell Brand has shelled out $2.2 million to make a hefty Hollywood Hills mansion his own, marking his first sizable real estate move since split from Katy Perry.
