Chris Brown Appears in Court for Probation Hearing

Chris Brown

Chris Brown will remain in jail for at least another week. The singer appeared in an L.A. courtroom on Thursday so the judge could set a date for a probation violation hearing. Wearing an orange jumpsuit, a stoic Brown faced a judge alongside his attorney Mark Geragos. The judge ruled that he must remain in jail at least until the next hearing on May 9. Brown, who turns 25 on Monday, arrived to court just hours after taking a cross-country flight from Washington to L.A. on the federal government’s “Con Air” inmate transport system. He has been behind bars since March 14 after being kicked out of a Malibu rehab facility for violating their rules. Over the next week, Geragos and Assistant District Attorney Mary Murray agreed to discuss Brown possibly admitting that he violated his probation. Geragos also said he would file a motion to have his client released from jail during the May 9 hearing. Brown faces up to four years in prison if the judge decides the singer violated his probation.
