Judge Extends Chris Brown’s Sentence, To Spend 25th Birthday In Jail


Chris Brown is to spend another week in jail after appearing in court yesterday.
The R&B singer has been serving time since 15th March, having violated his probation issues following his attack on Rihanna in 2009.
Brown could possibly face a continued sentence or further punishment after getting arrested when a man was punched in October outside a hotel in New York.
 
His lawyer told reporters: "If everything were true or found to be true, it's more than anybody else would get for what's been alleged here So our feeling is is that enough is enough.”
He appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday where Judge James Brandlin ruled he will remain incarcerated until May 9, his means the chart-topping singer will spend his 25th birthday, on May 5th, in jail. Attorney Mark Geragos hopes by then to strike a deal over penalties for his violation of probation, ordered after his 2009 guilty plea for assaulting then girlfriend, Rihanna.If he can’t come to an agreement with the prosecution, Chris faces four years in jail.

He was placed on probation but that was revoked after he and bodyguard Christopher Hollosy were arrested on assault charges in Washington D.C. for allegedly beating a man who tried to take a photo of Brown last October outside the W Hotel. Hollosy has already been found guilty of the assault.
