Liverpool WILL sell Luis Suarez if they get £80million bid

Uruguayan Wave: Suarez waves to fans from his mother's house in Montevideo after leaving the World Cup

Liverpool are ready to sell Luis Suarez to Barcelona as they began ambitious moves to revamp their attack.

With Barcelona having made it clear that Suarez’s four-month worldwide ban from football does not impact on their intention to sign him, Liverpool have wasted no time  moving to find the right replacements.

Adam Lallana will become a Liverpool player in the next 48 hours after Southampton relented and accepted a £25million offer for the England forward, four weeks after receiving the call from Anfield officials.

Liverpool have also launched a bid to sign Lazar Markovic from Benfica.

The Serb is one of the hottest young properties in European football and has a £20m release clause. Although Liverpool are stunned by the length of the ban Suarez received from FIFA on Thursday for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini, they accept it is the right time to let the Uruguayan leave after he embroiled them in controversy once again.

Despite the ban, Liverpool still believe Barcelona could pay as much as £80m for Suarez and principal owner John W Henry is determined not to allow him to leave ‘on the cheap’.

Suarez’s lawyer Alejandro Balbi was in Barcelona to discuss his client’s future, when new Barca head coach Luis Enrique maintained there would be no issue about going for the 27-year-old.

He compared Suarez to the legendary former Barca forward Hristo Stoichkov and said: ‘Stoichkov deliberately trod on a referee but he was still considered a great player.’

For Liverpool to get £80m would represent excellent business and Brendan Rodgers would be given the funds to reinvest.

Completing a deal for Lallana is a formality after he arrived on Merseyside to complete a two-part medical.

His heart has been set on a move to Anfield since the end of last season and personal terms have been agreed. Lallana will check in along with his ex-Saints team-mate Rickie Lambert Germany Under-21 midfielder Emre Can.

Markovic, 22, was a huge influence on Benfica winning the Portuguese title. Liverpool have been tracking him for some time, as had Chelsea, and will meet his release clause.
