The former Accountant-General of Bauchi State, Bappa Tilde, who
was kidnapped last Saturday by unknown men has been killed. The 72-year-old man
was kidnapped at Nuru Quarters in Bauchi, on his way home from the mosque,
where he observed his night prayers.
Both security and family confirmed his death on Thursday, in
Bauchi. Tilde was buried on Thursday morning, following funeral prayers held at
the palace of the Emir of Bauchi.
The deceased, according to the North-East zonal publicity
secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Sani Al’amin Mohammed, was
survived by three wives, 27 children and over 100 grandchildren.
