Unknown gunmen on Saturday trailed and killed a former chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Lumunnege Zegeguve in Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue State.
Spokesman of the police, ASP Austin Ezeani, ruled out the involvement of hired assassins, saying five armed robbers shot the former chairman. Ezeani told journalists in Makurdi yesterday that a relation of the deceased, Orshee Tete Zegeguve, was arrested on the scene of the killing.
He said the police had moved after the killers while the corpse has been deposited at the General Hospital in Katsina-Ala.
