If a guy tries to settle down with any of the following archetypes, he’s in for a world of pain:
1. The Pathological Liar
It
starts with a few white lies; soon enough he’s questioning everything
from her occupation to her middle name. Trust is at the foundation of
any relationship — if you can’t trust your partner, then the relationship is already doomed.
2. The Cheater
Some habitual liars take things a step further with dishonesty about their commitment to the relationship. A silly mistake is one thing — but an ongoing affair or (gasp!) marriage to another guy is a pretty sure sign that she isn’t the ideal bride.
3. The Emotionally Committed
Commitment isn’t just physical – it’s emotional, too. Just because she’s not actively in a relationship doesn’t mean her heart can’t be with someone else. If she’s clearly and absolutely obsessed with an ex-, a co-worker, or her pet chihuahua, you’re barking up the wrong tree, pal.
4. The Narcissist
The world revolves around The Narcissist: every activity, event, and date is ruled by her decision. She has no interest in meeting a guy’s friends or family, trying anything new, or experiencing anything that he’s into. Anyone but masochists into slave-play should avoid at all costs.
5. The Uncompromising Party Animal
There’s a difference between a lady who likes to have a good time, and one who hits the clubs ’til 6AM on a Tuesday. She might call herself a “free spirit,” but there’s nothing free about a N20000 bar tab. The Party Animal can be a lot of fun, but likely has no interest in “settling down.”
6. The Materialist
Every lady deserves to be lavished with
luxury now and then, but when expensive gifts and dinners seem to be the
sole foundation on which
her love is based , a guy should look for a deeper love elsewhere.

7. The Bully
Abuse
of any kind – whether physical, verbal, or emotional — is unacceptable
behavior from either gender in any relationship. Regularly
insulting, embarrassing, or using a partner as a metaphorical punching bag are unquestionable grounds for dismissal.

8. The “Police Officer”
While
I certainly take no issue with dating actual members of any legal
police force (in fact, those handcuffs can be pretttty sexy!), a woman
who polices a guy’s life (i.e. controlling who he hangs out with;
requiring fifteen minute check- ins; determining at all times what he
can or cannot eat) is breaking “relationship law.”
9. The Unstable
While
supporting a partner and helping in times of need is simply part of
being in love, there are some people who just aren’t ready for
a relationship. If a woman has a severe mental or emotional disorder,
she needs immediate help from a therapist, not a boyfriend.
