Buhari Appoints Mahmood Yakubu as New INEC Chairman

Federal Government has gotten a replacement for the former Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, as Professor Mahmood Yakubu has been appointed the new chairman.

Prof. Yakubu’s appointed was confirmed at the emergency Council of State meeting held today by the President Buhari. He has been an Assistant Lecturer at the Federal College of Education in Zaria for the past 4 years. Acting chairman of the Commission, Amina Zakari is now the INEC Commissioner representing the North-West.
