Senator Ben Murray-Bruce representing Bayelsa east in the National Assembly has advised President Muhammadu Buhari and first-term governors to stop blaming their predecessors in office for the misfortunes of Nigeria.
The commonsense advocate urged them to concentrate on how to make the country better, rather than hinging the country’s current economic woes on their predecessors.
The chairman Silverbird group stressed that six months is one eighth of the four-year tenure given to them, adding that “if you are still blaming your predecessor after 6 months, when are you going to ever deliver the goods?”
He made this known in a series of tweets via his handle, @benmurraybruce.

You can only blame your predecessor for your problems for so long. After 6 months, so long becomes too long!

6 months is 1/8 of a 4 year tenure. If you are still blaming your predecessor after 6 months, when are you going to ever deliver the goods?

Those who insult and call us enemies for advising the President & Govs to focus on delivering results instead of blaming dont love Nigeria.

Those who advise @MBuhari to make hay while the sun shines are his friends. It is unwise to make blame while the sun shines #commonsense

Blaming others is a sign of helplessness. A numero uno should not blame. He must take responsibility for leading us out of troubled waters.

Go ahead and attack me, I don't mind. I am not the President or a Gov. I'm just a Nigerian who loves @mbuhari enough to tell him the truth!

Meanwhile President Buhari has said that he won’t stop letting Nigerians know how the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan messed up the economy, not minding whose ox is gored.
The president made this statement in response to allegations by the national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, that he was ‘demarketing the country and dissuading foreign investments’.
