Lawmaker proposes bill to fine men $100 each time they masturbate

A Texas lawmaker, Rep. Jessica Farrar, has proposed a bill that would fine a man $100 each time he masturbates. The bill also imposes a 24-hour waiting period if a guy wants a colonoscopy or a vasectomy, or if he’s in the market for some Viagra.

The Democrat seeks a penalty on men for masturbation because such behaviour is a failure to preserve the sanctity of life and “an act against an unborn child.”
In proposing the fine for masturbation, Farrar, a Democrat, says that if a man’s semen is not used to create a pregnancy, “then it’s a waste … because that semen can be used — and is to be used — for creating more human life.” She said, “Men have to answer for their actions and so forth. So if there’s going to be an emission, it would have to be done in a hospital where the semen could be preserved for future pregnancies or it would be directly deposited into the vagina of a woman.”
Farrar intention is not to get the bill named “A Man’s Right to Know Act” passed but she proposed it last week to make a point and create a debate on women’s health and the strict conditions for getting an abortion. Farrar has long been an advocate of women’s health in a state that has made it extremely difficult for women to get abortions. And the bill, by pointing out a sexist double standard, is meant to shine a light on the obstacles women deal with when it comes to their health care.
