South Korean Man Fined For Spreading Dr. Dre And First Lady Wedding Rumor

A 73-year-old man has been ordered to cough up a few thousand dollars for spreading a rumor about the widow of a late president and rap legend Dr. Dre. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to reports, the South Korean man, who has not been named, claimed former leader Kim Dae-jung's widow, Lee Hee-ho was going to marry the rapper, in an attempt to launder "slush funds" that he claimed belonged to Mr. Kim.

On Friday, the Seoul district court fined the man 5 million won ($4,400), saying that he "violated the honour of the deceased and the bereaved". ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "The rumour about the slush fund and the marriage between Lee and Dr. Dre is groundless," Judge Lee Eun-hee said, fining the man for defamation.
