I Took No Money From Andy Uba, Have No Problem With Him Or Tony Nwoye – Sen. Ngige

I am compelled to respond once more to a certain persistent tissue of lies which have been streaming under different headings and datelines on the social media, all, alleging that Sen. Andy Uba advanced the sum of N500,000 million Naira to me to enable him win the recently conducted Anambra State Governorship primary of our party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The more devious and vicious angle to this well though-out and orchestrated mischievous character assassination  is that I have made confessional statement to the Security Agencies in admission and, additionally alleging that both Sen. Uba and Hon. Tony Nwoye, our party’s flagbearer in the November 18, 2017 election are now after my life.

I am aware that both Sen. Andy Uba and Hon. Nwoye have respectively denied these Luciferous lies , just as I have done hitherto. However, for the avoidance of doubt or shreds of ambiguity I wish to state once again that Sen. Andy Uba did not give me a dime either for myself or for the funding of our Party state chapter.

This information which has gone virial is false, fertile and febrile fabrications of mischief makers and insidious political detractors who are obviously intimidated by my decades of stainless reputation, and now, the intimidating profile of the Anambra State chapter of the APC, subsequent upon its very successful recent governorship primary.

Though it is not surprising that opponents who are obviously intimidated by this development will stop at nothing to create even if an imaginary division among our ranks, it is errant to substitute decent politicking for character assassination.

I wish to further state unequivocally, that it is a huge insult to insinuate that I was guided by pecuniary considerations in positioning our party for victory in Anambra state. Hence, I aver without fear of contradiction that no aspirant ever advanced money to me, or ever attempted whispering such to my ear, knowing full well, that by my pedigree, it is preposterous to even imagine I will ever be disposed to such.

Before the primary election of August 26, 2017, I made it abundantly clear that my role and major interest as the father of the party in the state was to ensure that level playing ground was enabled for the best among the aspirants to emerge and subsequently win the governorship election. I maintained that neutrality to the end.

I therefore once more urge our party members and the general public to kindly disregard these wicked lies as the handiwork of the enemies of progress and work hard for the success of our party in the forthcoming Anambra State gubernatorial election.
