EFCC seizes Saraki’s houses in Lagos


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has seized some houses belonging to Senate President Bukola Saraki, SUNDAY PUNCH has learnt. The houses, which are located at 15a, 15b and 17 MacDonald Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, are said to belong to Saraki.

Senate President Saraki Gets New International Appointment


President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has been appointed as an “Ambassador-at-Large” of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC). In a letter dated March 16, 2019, Ambassador Friday Sani, the Diplomatic Head of the Commission to Nigeria and other African Countries, stated that sequel to the approval of the World Secretary General of the IHRC, Dr. Saraki has been appointed as one of the revered Ambassadors-at-Large of the multinational body. It reads, “While our role as a regional body is to promote and encourage institutions and persons to uphold human dignity across the world, we must not fail to mention the commendation of our Nigerian team over your resolute efforts in the stability of your country and your firm leadership of the Nigerian Senate which is adjudged to be among the most proactive parliaments across the world.

Saraki Reacts To "Juicy Offer" To Him By Buhari Presidency


Senate president Bukola Saraki last night reacted to the speculations about juicy offers being made to him and his associates as part of the on-going discussions with the Presidency and leadership of the APC. In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki said reports about promise of money or oil block and nomination tickets are simply reducing a major national issue involving many key actors to that of personal benefits and preferences.

Offa Robbery: Drama As Coalition Of CSOs Demand Saraki's Immediate Resignation As Senate President


According to a report by Vanguard, a coalition of some Civil Society Organizations in the country has demanded immediate resignation of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, following his links to the alleged Offa banks robbery and gang leaders’ confession, non declaration of his assets and the killings of over 33 people in Kwara State by political thugs. The group under the aegis of Coalition of Civil Society for Good Governance and Democracy, which also recalled that Saraki’s corruption trial with the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, over his alleged non assets declaration was still ongoing in the anti-graft court, insisted that the path to honour for the Senate President was to step aside to clear his name.

Why I Was Absent At APC Meetings - Saraki


Senate President Bukola Saraki has explained the reasons why he was absent at key meetings of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held last week. Saraki’s absence at both the National Caucus and National Executive Council (NEC) meetings of his party heightened speculations of his plan to dump the APC. Butnin a statement by his media aide, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki said his absence was as a result of his ongoing trial at the Code of Conduct of Tribunal (CCT) and tight schedules. The statement reads: “On Monday, the Senate President was in Benin from morning till 6.15pm, attending the Senate Roundtable on Migration and Human Trafficking, one of the interventions by the lawmaking body to source for legislative and policy solutions to one of the major problems plaguing the youth in our country.
