OAU SUG Vice President Crying After Fight Involving Union Members (Photos)

Two people have been injured in a fight that ensued between Students Union Government leaders of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, on Tuesday.
 
The Vice President of the union, Miss Jacob Tosin who allegedly broke a bottle and stabbed the Social Director, Adedayo Emmanuel, in the arm was on Tuesday beaten mercilessly when a fight ensued between Students Union Government leaders of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, on Tuesday.

ASUU Strike Looms Over Controversial 2009 Agreement

University teachers are set for another strike over the controversial 2009 agreement they reached with the Federal Government among other issues.
A meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of ASUU will hold today in Abuja ahead of the action.
Yesterday, all chapters of the union nationwide held a congress as directed by its national body to decide whether or not to go ahead with the planned strike.

Jackie Chan: Mother Storms Ogun School With Thugs To Beat Up Teachers

A mother, Monsurat Ayinde, who allegedly recruited some thugs to beat her child’s teachers in a secondary school, was on Monday charged before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adeola Adelaja, however, released her on bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

FG Approves Equal Salaries For HND, Degree Holders


The Federal Government has ended the dichotomy between holders of University degrees and Higher National Diploma in all the Para-military services. To this end, the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Board has directed that all officers with HND should be upgraded to COMPASS 08, which is the salary grade level for holders of degree certificates at entry point.

Nigerian girl, 17, secures admission to 13 universities




A 17-year- old girl, Serena Omo-Lamai, has been granted admission to study in 13 universities in America and Canada. Omo-Lamai, who graduated from Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, last year, however, opted for Syracuse University, United States, to study Bio-Medical Engineering. Some of the universities where she was offered admission include Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, New York University, among others.
