Court grants Naira Marley N2m bail

Nigerian Musician Azeez Fashola -Naira Marley has been granted bail at the federal high court Lagos. Justice Nicholas Onweibo imposed on the artiste a N2 million bail, with two sureties in like sum. The first surety must be a civil servant from the level of grade 10, while the second surety must have landed property. Trial has been adjourned to October 22-24. His counsel, Olalekan Ojo, SAN expressed satisfaction with the ruling, saying the terms are liberal.

Naira Marley's Management Releases Official Statement On His Arrest By EFCC

The management of Azeez Fashola, the Nigerian singer widely known as Naira Marley, has issued a statement concerning his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). It will be recalled that Naira Marley was arrested alongside four others in connection to internet fraud known as ”Yahoo Yahoo”. While others have regained freedom, the ”Issa Goal” crooner remains in custody with the EFCC stating that the evidence against him is overwhelming beyond releasing him on bail. His management has now released an official statement as regards Naira Marley’s stance on the issue:

Earlier today it was reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arrested Nigerian singer Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley. EFCC has now revealed that the reason behind the popular singer’s arrest is because of his involvement in advance fee scam and other related cyber crimes. The acting EFCC spokesperson, Mr Tony Orilade, in an interview with Premium Times, said, “Yes, he is with us. He’s not the only person; he had some other persons also arrested alongside (him).

Police arrests Baruwa Eleniyan, the head of touts who beat Shoki Shitta for disrespecting Wizkid and praising Davido on Instagram. The arrest comes less than 24 hours after a video of Baruwa Eleniyan and his boys beating Shoki Shitta went viral. Shoki was beaten by the hoodlums for publicly criticizing Wizkid for not settling them in Shitta, Surulere in Lagos state. According to reports, Baruwa was arrested on Wednesday night and put in Police custody. The Police allegedly obtained a text conversation between himself and Wizkid. The text included details to Wizkid on how Shoki was nabbed and being dealt with.
