Ribadu Visits Akande, May Defect To APC

A former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, on Sunday held a private meeting with a former Interim Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Bisi Akande. Ribadu, who contested the 2011 presidential election on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, visited Akande at his residence in Ila-Orangun on Sunday evening and discussed with him for a few hours. The visit had sparked rumour of the possibility of the defection of the former anti-graft boss to the ruling APC. A highly-placed source in the APC in Osun State told our correspondent on Sunday that Ribadu visited Akande in company with the National Secretary of the APC, Mai Bala Buni.

Ribadu Has Been Forced to Step Down from Adamawa Guber

When some people told Nuhu Ribadu that he is not yet a political heavy-weight, he did not agree. Now the saga is getting clearer and interesting. Eight of the 14 aspirants jostling for Adamawa Governorship ticket under the PDP stepped down from the race in the early hours of Friday.

After about four hours meeting with the aspirants that started by 9.06 p.m on Thursday and ended around 1.00 a.m on Friday at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Senate President, David Mark along with other officials of the party were able to reach a compromise with the aspirants and pruned down the number of those contesting to six.
