Kenya’s Dennis Kimetto sets marathon record

On Sunday October 13,Dennis Kimetto set a record by emerging the winner of the Chicago marathonmen's race after winning the Tokyo marathon in February.



Kimetto ran the 42-kilometres mile in 2:03:53 with 53 seconds ahead of last year's winner,Tsegaye of Ethopia.

In the second and third place were also Kenyans-Emmanuel Mutai with 2:03:52 and Sammy Kitwarain 2:05:16. The winners were given $100,000 with Kimetto receiving an additional $75,000 for setting a course record.



Just last month,Wilson Kipsang, Eluid Kipchoge and Geoffrey Kipsang came first, second and third respectively in the40thBerlin marathonrace. In the women wing also,Florence Kiplagat and Sharon Cherop came first and second, all making Kenyans proud.
