The project was concluded as scheduled and the results were achieved, but since then it has become almost impossible to have an audience with the Governor so as to get my balance.

I also visited the Government House on several occasions, and all efforts to get my money proved abortive.

However, the last straw that broke the camel's back was when the governor systematically started avoiding my calls and personal visits in a bid to deprive me of the balance of the money for a job which I successfully executed.

It is also on record that I have not charged the Rivers State Government a single dime of m y professional appearance fee, due to my personal reason/resolve to give back to the society which made me, starting from the government of Rivers State as a mark of honor and respect.

The rumor mills have it that the Governor of Rivers State has given me juicy contracts including all manner of flashy cars, but I stand here today to debunk such tales, because I have not received as much as a bicycle spoke from Governor Amaechi.

My love for the Ikwerre ethnic nationality, the Niger Delta project and the Nigerian dream has seen me working for virtually everything I own today because there is dignity in labour, hence I can never resort to cheap blackmail or character assassination of any person, group or association, therefore I stand to make this declaration that all I am asking for is the payment of my money, thus, this should not be seen as a political campaign of any sort.

Permit me to bring to your notice, the fact that many of his personal aids and security details have come to me severally, soliciting for financial assistance which I have usually offered them without any hesitation, not knowing that they all have the notion that their boss, Governor Amaechi has been favoring me through contracts, meanwhile this is not also true.

I have tried frantically on several occasions to meet with the Governor one on one so as to resolve this issue but all to no avail.

Most recently I was invited to a dinner between the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and the Governor of Rivers State. Immediately after my performance at the said event inside Government House I ran after the Governor to demand for my money in my usual way, but to my utmost bewilderment the Governor unequivocally told me point blank that I should remember that when we did that transaction he was still working with his former chief of staff, Hon. Nyesom Wike who is now the minister of state for education. This is exactly what prompted me to take this decision of writing this article in other to recover the money which I worked to earn.

This issue also led to the problem that transpired on Friday, the 23rd of May 2014 when I got to the Government House gate at 8am, one of the security details named Mr. Jude rudely ordered me to park my car outside the gate, a situation which led to a scuffle and heated argument between me and the said security officer, as a result of this I subsequently held a meeting with my staff on the way forward concerning this same issue after which we agreed that we should channel the ongoing matter through the Office of the Chief Press Secretary to the governor Mr David Iyofor. This we did and the cps after hearing the story promised to help contact the governor who happens to be his boss, but to my chagrin the chief press secretary rather stopped taking my calls up till this moment.

Prior to this time I have not played any event for the commissioners and other cabinet members due to the fact that they thought they couldn't afford to pay my appearance fee because I was the governors favorite hence will be unaffordable to them; a predicament that I have also managed to live with, while my friends, family members, staff and fans have all concluded that I have betrayed them by going behind to collect huge sums of money for events at the Government House without giving them their own. I have also not charged the rivers state government my usual professional appearance fee on events. The present chief of staff to Rivers State Government Mr Tony Okocha and Senator Magnus Abe are my witnesses on this.

meanwhile due to the multi-lingual nature of Rivers State as a result of different ethnicities, I decided to record a song which I titled PORT HARCOURT BOY where I mentioned the names of various prominent men who have made their mark at one point or the other; even people from other states who lived and conducted their businesses in Port Harcourt as a way of promoting and uniting the state.

Shortly afterwards the general public started saying that Governor Amaechi has been the one behind my career success claiming that he bought me all manner of flashy cars and pays me huge amount of money regularly, meanwhile since I finished the project for the governor he virtually declined paying me the outstanding balance as agreed upon our transaction.

It is also a known fact that before amnesty was given DUNCAN MIGHTY was the first artiste in the entire Niger Delta to embrace the creeks all over the country, using my music to promote peace in the region, encouraging the youths to shun cultism, youth restiveness and other social vices.

The entire entertainment industry within the Niger Delta region actually believed that I was constantly favored by the governor hence they all came to me in 2011 pleading with me to become the chapter president of performing musicians association of Nigeria (PMAN), a move I constantly rejected so that I can concentrate on my career.

All this while God has been my source of inspiration and survival; my pillar of strength and protection.

It was also rumored that I was appointed a member of river state carnival committee, and due to their secret nature of meeting and deliberating on carnival issues, my fellow artistes constantly accused me of not carrying them along, an accusation which I've always struggled to debunk till date.

Moreover, my passion for going all the way to contribute my quota to the development of the entertainment industry in the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole was born out of genuine interest, love and previous roles as a professional audio engineer who has worked for many international brands at different capacities.

More so, I need to clear the air on this issue which made a lot of artistes who I was owing some outstanding balance to call me a traitor, saboteur, saying that I have betrayed them by refusing to pay them when in the actual sense I have not received further payment from the Governor. Since I didn't want any further trouble arising from this issue, I had to pay them out of my pocket from my own funds.

Once more, I will like to state that this has nothing to do with party politics, I am seriously appealing to everyone who knows Governor Amaechi to tell him to pay me my money in the name of God.

Return to PDP, Mu’azu begs Amaechi, others

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, has enjoined Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, to appeal to the five PDP governors who defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress to reconsider their  action.

 

Mu’azu said that Lamido should do so ahead  of a visit  to the five governors  by  a  committee to be constituted by  the National Working Committee  of the party  to reconcile all aggrieved PDP members.

 

Lamido was a prominent member of  the seven aggrieved PDP governors who  were the linchpin of the now defunct New PDP.

 

The Jigawa governor and his Niger State counterpart, Babangida Aliyu, however, developed cold feet when  the  five other aggrieved governors announced their decision to join the APC.

 

The five are

Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Abdulfatai Ahmed (Kwara), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), and Rabiu Kwakwanso (Kano).

 

But when  Lamido visited  his  office  in Abuja on Wednesday, Mu’azu  said, “I want you to help us talk to the G-5 ahead of our meeting with them. Appeal to their sense of patriotism.  We will visit them. You are a key figure in  the then G-7,which is now G-5.”

 

Mu’azu, who was responding to a comment  by Lamido that those who  defected   did so in anger, said   that members of the PDP   NWC    would   look at all issues that  made  the party’s membership to be declining.

 

He appealed to PDP members   to remain steadfast and committed, adding that these were  the only ways to tackle the problems facing the party.

 

Mu’azu said, “PDP made most of the people and we expect that whatever be the case, we should remain within and   correct the needful for us to move forward.

 

“With my colleagues  in  the NWC, I want to assure you that we will  look at everything that   led to our party to be reducing in number and in size and we will address them.

 

“Whatever injustice that had been done, we are going to correct them  (and) we will be bold enough to say sorry to those that had been  wronged.”

 

He added after due consultation with the party’s major stakeholders that a high level reconciliation committee would   be put in place.

 

The former Bauchi state governor appealed to Lamido to be  part of the committee.

 

According to him, the committee will visit all aggrieved members of the party to say sorry to them with a “view to bringing  them  back.”

 

He said, “I am sure that  nobody will like to leave his home;  not even a fool will leave a home such as the PDP.

 

“The PDP is best home and the best family to be in. Those of them that have gone, I wish to appeal to them to please come back home.

 

“I appeal to them to have a sense of patriotism for our party. The party has offered them a lot. Let them reflect and come back  because  our doors are open.’’

 

He stressed that the PDP under his leadership would continue to strengthen and deepen internal democracy to ensure that anyone with its  ticket  won elections.

 

Earlier, Lamido had told Mu’azu  and others present at the meeting how the PDP  was formed. He  said  that many of those who now abused  governors and other top members of the party could not raise their voices in 1998 when  the military  was in charge.

 

Lamido, who was  in company with Jigawa State   PDP  chieftains, added that the G-7 governors and others that led  the defunct New PDP were traumatised in the last seven months.

 

Pointing out that he had nothing against the former National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, the Jigawa State governor  said it was unfortunate that the  Tukur-led NWC sacked members  of the party without justification.

 

It will be recalled that Amaechi, Wamakko, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola,  Alhaji Abubakar   Baraje, Dr. Sam Jaja  and  Ambassador Ibrahim Kazaure were suspended by the NWC led by Tukur.

 

Wamakko’s suspension was later lifted but Amaechi was recommended for expulsion by the PDP Disciplinary Committee  headed by Dr. Umaru Dikko.

 

But Lamido said it was wrong for the party to have taken such a decision.

 

He said, “We were traumatised in the last seven months. When we see things going wrong, we feel sad.

 

“Our leaders failed to understand and appraise the situation of things. We complained about things. I have nothing against Tukur, he is my elder and a brother. The entire system was about being destroyed in the last six months.

 

“In 1998 when we were fighting to enthrone democracy in  this country, those making noise  today could not talk then. They were irrelevant.

 

“Those in charge of our party were busy sacking people; they denied governors seats during convention and people were shut out.

 

“They did it  in Rivers. I’m not boasting and I know the history of the party and I know what we went through in 1998.

 

“People, my brother governors, were in pain that the party they helped to build  was  doing  wrong things  to them.

 

“A former Head of State and President (Chief Olusegun Obasanjo) complained and they were not worried . Impunity became  the order of the day. People were leaving and  they were not worried.”

 

While congratulating the new chairman of the party, Lamido assured him of his support and that of other governors.

 

Reacting, Amaechi wished the PDP well  in its plan but said it was “too late to cry when the head had already gone off.”

 

He  said that “as a politician with character”, he would  never speak from both sides of his  mouth.

 

“I wish them (PDP) good luck, but I know that the governor is a politician with character. I have told you before that the moment the arrow leaves the bow, there is no going back,” the governor said through the Chief of Staff, Government House,  Chief Tony Okocha.

 

“Instead of telling them (PDP) that it an impossible mission, we will rather wish them good luck,” he added.

Why I Dumped PDP – Governor Amaechi

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has linked what he termed the warm attitude of Nigerians towards corruption, to one of the plagues militating against the progress of the country.

Amaechi, weekend, in Port Harcourt, on why he dumped Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for All Progressives Congress, APC, said that Nigerians celebrate corruption.
"We celebrate corruption. That is part of the problems of this country."
He explained that his fight was about promoting accountability, transparency in government and good governance, adding that the quality of leadership was part of the reasons he left PDP.
He said he also left PDP when it became clear to him that the President had no development programme for Rivers State.

He said: "The South-South president is the man who feeds me. I had to fight for the work on the East-West Road. The South-South president should have voted money for the road in 2011. Instead of Niger Delta benefiting from his government, we are losing. What has the President done for Rivers State? Our sin for the delay of the international airport is that we are vocal. They don't like us.

"They took Soku oil wells and 41 oil wells from Etche to Abia State. Should I remain in that kind of party? Virtually everything that was coming to Rivers State had been taken to Bayelsa State. World Bank confirmed to me that they have confirmed the loan for water. You deny Rivers people opportunity to have water in their homes just because they are quarreling with Amaechi," he said.
He said it was shocking that the Federal Government could ground helicopters it gave approval for the state to acquire to intensify the anti-oil theft crusade.

"That I am still alive functioning as governor of Rivers State is by the grace of Almighty God.They can keep their federal might. I hear they say by the time they finish with Amaechi, he will know there is federal mighty," he added.
He said the Federal Government was yet to refund money expended on federal projects in the state, adding "We did Ikwerre Road fly over, Interchange at Obikwere, Port Harcourt Owerri Road, Ada George Road. All these are federal projects we have done for which the money had not been refunded."

On the financial status of the state, he said Rivers State was not broke but facing some financial difficulties traced to diversion.
"We are under pressure but not broke," he said.

Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi gave a very long message while addressing masses at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Port Harcourt on Christmas day, Wed December 25, 2013.

While addressing the increased violence in the Rivers State, Amaechi said the growing insecurity was caused by police officials' biasness when dealing with civilians.
He also said he was installed by Jesus Christ as the governor of Rivers State. Amaechi urged people to ignore claims that some politicians installed him as the governor.

"As a government led by me, a government installed by Christ, if anybody tells you he installed me, tell him it is a lie. Tell him that I said I prayed for 10 months and I fasted from 6am to 6pm, calling on Christ to come down and Christ came down mightily and installed me as governor.
"That is why you can see that in the face of human effortery, I have been able to stand face to face with them and I say I have Christ in me.

"You must rise in that same spirit of having Christ in you and confront those who are confronting you. You must stand up for Christ because the Bible says 'faith without work is dead.'

"We must not die. We must live and the way to live is to celebrate Christ and the way to celebrate Christ is to confront Satan and Satan is in different forms and shapes.
"If the police shoot at you, they are satanic. If government denies you your right to live, that government is satanic" .
"All these you may want to attribute to political disagreement in Rivers State; but it is not true. It is simply because of those who lead us in Abuja; because the police is an establishment of the Federal Government and they have refused to curb the excesses of the police.

"Instead of the police to chase away criminals, they are shooting at innocent citizens. Don't stop at praying. We knew we prayed, but as you pray, you must rise on your feet and confront the challenges of insecurity."

BIG TROUBLE: Five Lawmakers To Impeach Amaechi

Reminiscent of the July 9 fracas on the floor of Rivers State House of Assembly, Port Harcourt, the dissident 6 lawmakers opposed to Governor Rotimi Amaechi with the barking of powerful forces in Abuja are set to sit to begin impeachment proceedings against governor.

It was learnt last night that the impeachment was not targeted at only Amaechi, who is the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF), his deputy, Tele Ikuru, is also to be removed.

The sitting will be presided over by a crony of First Lady Patience Jonathan and the self-acclaimed Speaker of the Rivers Assembly, Evans Bipi, who represents Ogu/Bolo Constituency, and according to investigation, he will be made the acting governor, after removing Amaechi and and his deputy. This is crazy!

The anti-Amaechi lawmakers, to be backed by policemen and the Armed Forces, will first declare vacant the seats of the 25 legislators loyal to the NGF chairman and to be accused of defecting to the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmakers loyal to the Presidency and the acting Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, are Bipi, Michael Okechukwu Chinda (Obio/Akpor II constituency), Kelechi Godspower Nwogu (Omuma), Martins Amaewhule (Obio/Akpor I), Victor Ihunwo (Port Harcourt III) and Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani, the Chief Whip (Andoni).

The anti-Amaechi legislators are basing their decision to sit today on yesterday's judgement of the Federal High Court (FHC), Abuja, presided over by Justice Ahmed Mohammed, which declared as unconstitutional, the taking over of the Rivers House of Assembly by the National Assembly.

The Deputy Speaker of the Rivers Assembly, Leyii Kwanee, a lawyer, however, said that Amachree remained the Speaker of the Assembly, stressing that illegality, impunity and lawlessness would not be condoned.
Kwanee assured that the 25 lawmakers would soon sit, but there must be adequate security, to prevent a repeat of July 9 and 10 fracas and confrontation in the Rivers Assembly.

WAR OF WORDS: You’re Peddling Falsehood - Okonjo-Iweala Replies Gov. Ameachi

The war of words between the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, seems not to be over as the minister has described the latest call for her probe by the governor as a campaign of falsehood against her person. Amaechi had called on the House of Representatives to probe the Minister of Finance and Minister of Water Resources, Stella Ochekpe over the alleged seizure of the World Bank and African Development Bank loans approved by the National Assembly for the state.

He had said, “The Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is using her position to undermine the safety and health of the people of Rivers State. I can’t afford to give all Rivers people bottled water, but all I can assure you is to ensure the provision of potable water. “But the Minister of Finance has refused to release it and I think I should put that before you (House Committee on Water Resources). They want Rivers people to die.” Okonjo-Iweala while replying in a statement issued on Tuesday night said it was “unfortunate that Amaechi is persisting in his outrageous and totally illogical campaign of falsehood” against her person. The statement signed by her Special Adviser on Communication, Mr. Paul Nwabuikwu described as “complete fabrication” Amaechi’s statement that the minister was responsible for the delay of the African Development Bank water project.
It reads in part, “As the ministry had previously explained, the project is going through the processes and must get final approval from the board of the African Development Bank and the Federal Executive Council before the Minister can sign it.

“So, the idea that Dr. Okonjo-Iweala has refused to sign it is preposterous and totally inaccurate.

“Dr. Okonjo-Iweala is not responsible for managing the N257bn that Rivers State has received from the Federation Account within the first 10 months of 2013 so the suggestion that she is somehow responsible for the challenges confronting the state doesn’t make sense.”

Amaechi Meets Tinubu and Buhari To Strategise For 2015

The authentic chairman of Nigeria's Governors Forum, Governor Rotimi Amaechi is the main man to win over as the political maneuverings leading to the 2015 general elections begin to take the centre stage.

After President Goodluck Jonathan and his brother, Governor Seriake Dickson pleaded with Amaechi not to abandon his fellow South-South man on Friday, juicygist.Com gathered that a high powered delegation of APC leadership led by Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu are meeting with Amaechi in his base in Port Harcourt to give him a better deal, not just sentiments of "my brother".

The top political meeting will hold on Monday, following a successful meeting with other G-7 governors.
Confirming the political meeting with Amaechi, APC spokesman Lai Mohammed, said "It is true, Insha Allah, we are going to Port Harcourt on Monday."
A source told us that APC leaders are storming Rivers to have a chat with a governor who has been humiliated by the Presidency and convince him to collapse his political structure into APC.

It is believed that once Amaechi accepts to join APC, the Northern G-7 governors will follow as they want to make sure that APC has at least two states in the South-South to challenge Jonathan in his stronghold.

FEAR OF APC: Jonathan Holds Secret Meeting With Amaechi

Obviously, while President Goodluck Jonathan was praying at different locations in Israel, he was still keeping a tab on happenings back home in Nigeria. One of the issues rattling the President at the moment is the event in Sokoto on Wednesday where APC leaders met with G-7 governors.

A source who is privy to meeting in Port Harcourt told OluFamous.Com that Jonathan told Amaechi to give a fellow brother his support and reminded him that they are one. But on his part, Amaechi said Jonathan's men have humiliated him terribly and as such he longer sees them as brothers...

The meeting which started in a private room, continued in the air as Jonathan pleaded with Amaechi to board his official chopper with him. Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson, who was openly against Amaechi as NGF chairman and working with Jonah Jang, was also at the secret meeting.

I hear that Dickson also told Amaechi that before the creation of Bayelsa State they were all one from Rivers State. He also pleaded with Amaechi to drop his grievances against Jonathan and forget the past.

A source told juicygist.com that Jonathan specifically told Amaechi that even if both of them are fighting it should not be taken too far, to make Amaechi support outsiders against him. He assured Amaechi that many things will change in the next few months.

Funny enough, Amaechi did not make any commitment as he was said to have told the President that the issue have gone too far for him to just take any personal decision. But Jonathan said he believe Amaechi is a good and gentle man who will not abandon "your brother".

REVEALED: Why Amaechi Was Blocked From Entering Government House

The Rivers state police command has explained the reason for barring the governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi from entering his residence through the Forces Avenue main entrance to the Government House. The governor who was on Thursday returning from an inspection tour of projects in the state was barred by gun-totting policemen who barricaded the entrance. According to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Angela Angela Agabe (DSP), the entrance was blocked as a measure to prevent a breakdown of law and order after a splinter group of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in the state opened a secretariat on the same road. All roads leading to Forces Avenue were immediately closed.

The governor’s Chief of Staff, Tony Okocha had earlier led members of a faction of the PDP to open the secretariat at 38, Forces Avenue, Old GRA, Port Harcourt. The ‘secretariat’ was, however, later closed down by the police who were said to be acting on superior orders. “You can’t do this. Not here. We will not allow it,” ordered the police deputy commissioner, Sam Ogaora, who reportedly led the police team. “We will go all out to ensure that we maintain law and order in this state. Anybody that takes the law into his hands will be dealt with accordingly. That is exactly what we have done here. We don’t have any secretariat here and anybody who has come here to hoist any flag will be dealt with. Nothing more than that,” he said. While explaining the closure, the state police PPRO says the governor could have made use of other entrances to the Government House seeing no reason for the ruckus being generated. “The governor has other routes to get to the Government House.
