Onigbinde backs Keshi on team list

Chief Adegboye Onigbinde

Former Super Eagles coach, Adegboye Onigbinde, has said coach Stephen Keshi should be left alone to decide on the players he needs for the World Cup. The former FIFA technical committee member told The PUNCH that Keshi is aware of the FIFA deadline for the submission of the team list. Keshi is expected to submit a provisional team list on April 22 but no one is sure of which player the tactician will leave out of the World Cup. “Keshi is the coach of the team. He knows who and who not to call and knows what he aims to achieve at the World Cup,” Onigbinde said.
“He is aware of the FIFA deadline for submission of players’ list, so he only can decide the number of players to invite, be it 50 or less,” he said. The NFF has, however, denied influencing Keshi’s decision as far as the players’ list is concerned.
