President Jonathan Unveils The New National e-ID Card (Photos)

 

President Jonathan Launched the new E-National identity card in Abuja today .The card which was created in collaboration with mastecard, is a multi-purpose card for identification, electronic signatures, biometric on-card verification, and other applications...let me say two in one, ID card and ATM.

Cardholders can use it  for depositing funds ,withdrawals, getting social benefits and making payments for goods and services at any of millions locations accepting MasterCard worldwide.

 

3 million cards will be issued during this first enrollment phase, while other Nigerians who are 16 years and older are expected to be enrolled subsequently.  The project is a partnership with MasterCard, the Nigerian National Identity Management Commission and Access bank.
