Singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault in DC, sentenced to time served.
He was sentenced to time already served, as the judge said Brown "has suffered the consequences" of his actions already.
On this charge, Brown has already served jail time and traveled to and from D.C. for hearings more than once.
One of Brown's attorneys, Danny Onorato, added that the performer's career has also suffered because of this charge.
"I would like to say to the court that I'm sorry," said the singer, who
was joined in court by his girlfriend. "I really am sorry."
Last year, Brown, 25, and his bodyguard Chris Hollosy were arrested for
allegedly hitting a fan outside of a Washington D.C. hotel. This past
June, the singer rejected a plea deal that would have allowed him to
avoid more jail time, having already served four months in connection
with the case.
Meanwhile, the performer spent several weeks in jail earlier this year
after he was removed from a rehab facility for an infraction. The rehab
stint was part of his probation stemming from the 2009 assault charge
stemming from his altercation with Rihanna.
Brown, who still has 500 hours of community service to serve on that
charge, will remain on probation until next year. He was released from
jail this past June.
