70 residents of Adamawa state, including a 99-year-old man, have reportedly lost their lives after an attack by Boko Haram insurgents from the night of Thursday, October 2 to Friday, October 3. The terrorists were said to have attacked Kubi, Garta and Kuborshosho in the Michika Local Government Area of the state.
Several houses and property were destroyed including the family home
of the village of former governor of the state and Minister Youths
Development, Mr. Boni Haruna, The Sun reports.
Haruna
is also said to have lost family members to the attack while some of
his relatives had to be relocated to neighbouring areas.
This comes as Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau,
who was confirmed dead, appeared in a new video claiming that the sect
had begun to implement Sharia law in some of the North Eastern
communities it had conquered.
