Breaking News! CBN Extends Bank Verification Number Deadline To Oct. 31st

The exercise which was supposed to end today saw customers besieging banks as early as 7am in order to meet up with the deadline.

The extension is meant to facilitate the smooth completion of the registration exercise. The customers had urged the CBN to extend the date, saying that the extension was necessary to enable them to complete their registrations.

"It has come to our notice that the BVN registration has elicted tremendous interst from the Nigerian banks' customers who crowded the banking halls in order to beat the deadline," a circular signed by Dipo Fatokun, Director, Banking and Payments System Department says. "Furthermore, there is the need to give Nigerian Banks' customers in diaspora ample time to enroll on the program," it added.
