20 Bodies Found in Mass Grave in Kenya

Twenty bodies have been discovered in shallow mass graves in Kenya's north-eastern Mandera town, local leaders and residents say. The identities of the bodies are unclear, but one family says one of the bodies is that of a woman who was reported missing a week ago.

This incident comes only a few months after the discovery of 11 bodies in a mass grave in the neighbouring town of Wajir, BBC reports. The residents of Somali-dominated districts in the region have repeatedly accused Kenya's security agencies of being behind the arrest and disappearance of youth suspected to have links with Somali militant Islamist group al-Shabab. Kenya's security forces deny the allegation.
