Mourinho Banishes United Midfielder To The Reserves

Manchester United Coach Jose Mourinho has told Bastian Schweinsteiger to train with the reserves as he will not feature in his plans. Schweinsteiger who signed for the Red Devils in 2015 has struggled with fitness and form throughout his short stay at Old Trafford, the German midfielder was asked to train with the Under 21s last week alongside eight other first team players as instructed by Mourinho.

This development indicates that Jose Mourinho may be creating space for the arrival of Paul Pogba who is supposed to bring youth and freshness to the central midfield area for United. However his former club Bayern Munich as come out to debunk any claims of the world winner’s return to the Allianz area. Club President, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: ‘I am 100 per cent convinced that Schweinsteiger will not return to Germany. I can see him staying at Manchester United and try to achieve their goals under a new coach. Maybe he could surprise Mourinho. Either way, Bastian has had an amazing career. Nothing can change that”.
The 32-year old may be looking at the prospects of leaving the club not without a challenge of finding a club to foot his huge wage bill- as he now faces a difficult task of seeing off his two year contract and remain in the reserve team.
