South African Pastor convicted for killing an Albino woman for rituals

A South African Pastor, leader of New Star Church in Zion, Bhekukufa Gumede has been convicted for murdering an albino woman. He promised to pay three men to kill 20-year-old Thandazile Mpunzi in August 2015, witnesses told the court.

The pastor also known as a traditional healer wanted the body parts to make traditional medicine, South African Times Live Newspaper reports. The court heard how Gumede instructed the three men to “put a silver coin into her mouth” and say some words which would make the victim powerless.

Gumede, 67, goes under the title of Archbishop as a leader of the New Star Church in Zion, which has 15 branches across the country.
