Buhari absent at FEC meeting for third time

President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has failed to arrive for the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday. This is the third consecutive absence of the president during the meeting.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo chaired the start of the session, which was open to the media. Buhari has been resting after treatment of an unspecific illness. Mr Buhari has been called by prominent Nigerians to take medical leave amid growing concern about his health.
In March, he returned from seven weeks of medical leave in the UK where he was treated for an undisclosed illness.
