The convener of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign Aisha Yesufu has reacted to former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter to President Muhammadu Buhari warning him against running in 2019. Aisha in series of tweet called President Buhari a serial looser as well as beckoned on Nigerians to focus on denying APC and PDP power.

#BBOG commends FG, Security Agencies on Chibok Girls' Release

The Bring Back Our Girls group (BBOG) on Sunday applauded the Federal Government and security agencies on the release of the 82 Chibok girls. The commendation came in a statement signed by the Convener of the group, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, on Sunday in Abuja. "The Nigerian Presidency has confirmed that 82 of our missing 195 Chibok Girls have been released via a negotiated deal. The efforts were through the combined effort of security agencies, the military, the government of Switzerland, the Red Cross, local and international NGOs."

Chibok Girls NOT Among 293 Girls, Women Rescued

The spokesperson for the Nigerian army, Sani Usman, a colonel, has told Reuters news agency that the rescued girls were not, from Chibok. They are not the Chibok girls, this is coming after the defence headquarters said Nigerian troops rescued over 200 girls and 93 women from Sambisa forest yesterday.

No Sign of Chibok Girls Yet-Army Chief

Looks like these people know where the girls are oh, According to Punch, there is a strong indication that the UK is withholding intelligence information as regard the more than 200 Chibok schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram since April 14, 2014. The British government claimed that revealing details of what it found about the whereabouts of the abducted girls would clearly damage its relationship with Nigeria and other allies.

Chibok girls may be released today – Officials

A native of Chibok and government official who spoke with the Leadership Newspaper early today said: “We are all in high spirit. I just returned from Chibok and from the information reaching us so far, we may very soon – in fact between now and tomorrow (Friday), have our girls freed”.

After 151 days, our girls are still nowhere to be found. Infact, i don't think anybody is even anywhere searching for them. It was the 150th day yesterday and the former Minister of Education, Mrs Obiageli Ezekwesili, called on President Goodluck Jonathan to immediately rescue the hundreds of girls abducted in Chibok by the Boko Haram sect on 14th April 2014.

Escaped Chibok Girls Get Admission in US

The Chief executive director of the Centre for Promotion of Ethics, Values and National Integration (CENPEVNI), and project coordinator, Rehabilitation and Reintegration Outreach Mission (RROM),  Dr Mercy Sokomba has said that it has secured admission for the 57 escaped Chibok school girls from a school in the United States of America (USA), through its collaboration with other groups. 

She said, offers for completion of education of the girls, inclusive of scholarship has been made to RROM through Stefanos Foundation and the international support groups of RROM.

 

"The reality of this particular offer is if the girls are ready for another form of separation from their parents. However, we have initiated discussions with some leadership of the Chibok community and at some point will meet with them and the parents for consent," she said.

Sokomba however said that they hope that the funds and support partnership will consistently get to RROM for project sustainability within scheduled time frame so as not to hinder the progress the outreach mission has made so far.

Parents Perform Funeral Rites For Chibok Girls; Ask FG To Close The Case

 

After 130 days since the over 200 Chibok school girls went missing, their parents have requested that the case be closed.

Since the girls have been missing for more than four months, and the search for them have been fruitless, the parents said they presumed the students to have died so they have already performed their funeral rites in their (parents’) minds according to their custom.

Boko Haram Abducts 100 Young Men in Borno #BringBackOurBoys

 

 According to Punch, the Boko Haram sect have kidnapped 100 boys and young men. Here's how they are reporting it,

It was gathered that about 100 persons were abducted during a Sunday attack on Doron Baga, a village in Borno State, where over 10 persons were killed. 

A source, who spoke to journalists in Maiduguri, said the insurgents attacked the Doron Baga on Sunday evening and took away some boys and young men.

SSS Arrests ‪#‎BringBackOurGirls‬ Campaigner, Former Minister Obi Ezekwelizi

Sources said that the SSS arrested her and seized her passport after they learnt that she was on her way out of the country to appear on the popular BBC HardTalk programme.

Pakistani Child Rights Activist, Malala Yousafzat Finally Meets President Jonathan (Photos)

 

The popular child rights activist, Malala Yousafzat finally met with President Goodluck Jonathan. Reports reaching me claims President Jonathan will be visiting the parents of the Chibok girls at last...over the abduction of their children over months ago by the Boko Haram. Kudos to you Malala (Reminds me of honeywell noodles...bambamlala..hehe)

  President Jonathan during the meeting said;

"Terror is relatively new here and dealing with it has its challenges. The great challenge in rescuing the Chibok girls is the need to ensure that they are rescued alive.The Govt and its security agencies were very mindful of the need to avoid the scenario in rescue attempts in other parts of the world where lives of abductees were lost in the efforts to rescue them.”

Malala said Jonathan described the girls' situation as "complicated" and that their lives could be put at risk by a military rescue attempt. She told reporters she would hold the Nigerian leader to his pledge that the girls would be home soon.

"I will from now be counting days and will be looking. I can't stop this campaign until I see these girls return back to their families and continue their education."

We Have Not Located The Kidnapped Girls- America Opens Up

 

The United States of America on Friday said it had decreased its surveillance flights in the search for the about 200 schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram, but added that the overall effort was unchanged due to more flights by other countries. It stated that it had no idea of the location of the girls.

“We don’t have any better idea today than we did before about where these girls are, but there’s been no letup of the effort itself,” Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby told reporters, according to Reuters.

A US defence official speaking on condition of anonymity said American flights had been reduced only after a body of intelligence had been gathered and that the cuts had been offset by the British and the French support.

Officials declined to say how long heightened U.S. surveillance over Nigeria had lasted.

Asked whether it was just a week or two, the defence official said, “No. We were building this baseline for a good period of time.”

  US surveillance flights over Nigeria were now intermittent, the source said. US military personnel are in Abuja in a bid to help coordinate the effort, and some 80 others were sent to Chad in May to support the surveillance operation.

Chad is northeast of Nigeria and borders the area in which Boko Haram is known to operate.

One US official voiced concerns that Boko Haram might have booby-trapped areas where the girls could be held, and there had been reports that they might have been split up into groups that were not being held in one place.

The defence official said surveillance alone would not lead to a resolution. “It will take the Nigerian piece of the equation with their own sources and human intelligence coupled with the other forms to really understand the picture,” he noted.

Singer Adokiye Makes Headline On DailyMail UK, For Offering Boko Haram Her Virginity (See PIC)

Last week, Singer Adokiye who has always claimed she is a virgin, offered herself to Boko Haram in exchange for the Chibok girls. Her "offer" somehow made it's way to popular international site, Daily Mail Uk. Here's part of what they reported,

Nigerian pop singer and peace ambassador has sent shock waves across social media by offering her virginity to Islamic militants in exchange for the return of hundreds of kidknapped schoolgirls. 

  Adokiye, 23, made the proposal to Boko Haram members to help free the 276 Nigerian girls which they snatched in April from the largely Christian north-eastern town of Chibok.
The singer and actress from the country's Imo State told Nigerian newspaper Vanguard: 'This is 11pm in the night and do you know what I am thinking about? Those little girls, where they are and what could be happening to them.

'It is just unfair. They are too young. I wish I could offer myself in exchange.'

The UN Ambassador of Peace also added:'They are between 12 and 15 year old girls for Christ sake. I am older and more experienced. Even if 10 to 12 men have to take me every night, I don’t care. Just release these girls and let them go back to their parents.'

Eight weeks ago more than 200 girls were abducted from Chibok in Borno State, now dailymail just published all their pictures with names.

Dailymail.co.uk who published the pictures this morning said the community leader and the girls’ families have given permission for their names and photographs to be put into the public domain so the world will be reminded of the missing girls.
