The National Universities Commission, NUC, through the commission’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Ibrahim Usman Yakasai, yesterday evening said the Maryam Abacha American University, in Niger Republic, is not an institution recognized by the body; hence the degrees awarded to students of the university will not be accepted in Nigeria. He also spoke about online universities, asking Nigerians to desist from them, saying degrees from such universities at the moment will also not be accepted in Nigeria.
