Nigerians Repatriated 2,638 From Libya

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Wednesday said it had received another batch of 121 stranded Nigerians from Libya, making a total of 2,638 Nigerians repatriated since February. The Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, Mr Suleiman Yakubu, received the new batch of evacuees on behalf of the Federal Government, enjoining them to learn from their unpleasant experiences while in Libya. Luxury Bus plunges into River in Ikorodu As Death Toll Rises To 4 (Photos)

Update: The number of passengers, who died in the luxury bus  that plunged into river in Ikorodu has increased to 4, as another corpse suspected to be that of the bus conductor of the bus has been recovered from the river.

A speeding luxury bus during early hours of Friday plunged into a Owode Eleja river in Ikorodu, Lagos State. NEMA Donates Food items Towards the Rehabilitation of 800 Repented Boko Haram Insurgents

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) presented food and non-food items to the military for Operation Safe Corridor Programme meant to de-radicalize, rehabilitate and re-integrate eight hundred (800) repented and surrendered Boko Haram insurgents to fast track peace process in the North east.

NEMA Says Nigeria Might Have Drought

On Wednesday, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) advised Nigerians to prepare for possible drought all over the country. NEMA’s warning followed the prediction of heavy rainfall by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET). The North West coordinator of NEMA, Musa Illalah, gave the advice in Kaduna during a workshop on liquid and solid waste management in the context of flood mitigation.
