Man stages his own kidnap to get N60m from his brother


The Police in Lagos on Thursday announced the arrest of a man who allegedly attempted to defraud his brother of N60 million by staging his own kidnap.


According to spokesman of the Lagos State Police command, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, who confirmed the arrest, on July 3, one Victor Udoh reported to the command that his younger brother, Ufom Edet Udoh, was kidnapped by unknown persons at Liverpool in Apapa area of Lagos state.

Famous-Cole said men of the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad, quickly swung into action and traced calls the complainant received on his phone.

With the introduction and arrival of an ultra-modern new buses, the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led Lagos State Government is fully prepared to make transportation in the state sweeter.
the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, disclosed that plans were afoot to remove yellow buses popularly known as Danfo from Lagos roads for a more efficient, well-structured and world class mass transportation system that would facilitate ease of movement within the city.

US Declares 20 Nigerian States Unsafe, Warns Citizens Against Going There...Find Out the States



The U.S government has published a travel warning and listed 20 states as unsafe, while asking its citizens living in Nigeria to stay away from them. In a travel warning which was published on Wednesday, the United States government has listed 20 of Nigeria’s 36 states as unsafe and asked its citizens living in the country to stay away from them.

Two Siblings Die, as Cooking Stove Sets Bungalow Ablaze in Lagos


Two siblings, Paul 4, and his sister 1, have been burnt to death after fire gutted a bungalow in the Igbo-Efon, Lekki area of Lagos State on Saturday. PUNCH was told that the fire began from a cooking stove which exploded in the bungalow where the victims lived with their parents. The inferno was said to have quickly spread and torched the room where the children were.
