French President Macron To Nigerian Youths: Join Politics


French President, Emmanuel Macron, has urged Nigerian youths to get involved with politics to change the narrative of the country. Macron, while describing politics as important, said only Nigerians could change their image before the comity of nations. The French President, who was accompanied by Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, gave the challenge during a visit to the Afrika Shrine in Ikeja, on Tuesday night at an event tagged “Celebrate African Culture.” He noted that the future of Africa and the task of making it great rested with Africans, saying that the youths have a crucial role to play.

The new commissioner of police in Lagos state, has told criminals that it would no longer be business as usual, as the force is committed to ridding the state of criminals. Speaking while he paid a visit to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday, the new commissioner of police in Lagos state, Edgal Imohinmi, said he is ready to dine with the devil for peace to reign in the state. LASG Shuts Illegal Plank Market


The Lagos State Government yesterday ordered the immediate closure of an illegal plank market in Oko-Baba Extension in the Yaba Local Council Development Area of the state. The government said the market was a safe haven for hoodlums and posed security threats, which informed the decision. The Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Muslim Folami, in a statement, said innocent citizens and commuters were victims of criminal activities perpetrated in the area.

First photos as Ambode employs 250 persons with disability into civil service

Lagos State Governor, Mr, Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday announced that in line with the promise he made at a recent Town Hall Meeting held in Ojo, the State Government would soon distribute letters of employment to 250 persons living with disabilities who would be deployed to the State Civil Service as well as the Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). The Governor also in furtherance of his promise to run an all-inclusive government, distributed various assistive technologies, mobility aids and financial grants to 2,000 persons living with disabilities and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) involved in taking care of such categories of people.

I’m Ready To Fund Additional Police Area Commands, Let’s Have One In Ikorodu & Badagry- Ambode


Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State yesterday, requested for two additional Police Area Commands, saying they would go a long way in tackling the nefarious activities of criminally minded persons once and for all. Ambode, who made the request when the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Idris Ibrahim paid him a courtesy visit at the Lagos House in Ikeja, said the additional Area Commands, if granted, would be set up in Ikorodu and Badagry, assuring that the State Government was ready to provide the funds to set them up.

Smart City: Gov. Ambode Launches Free Public WiFi in Lagos

The Lagos State Government on Thursday intensified its smart city initiative with the unveiling of a free public Wi-Fi at the Ndubuisi Kanu Park, located at Alausa in Ikeja. The Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led Lagos State government on Thursday, launched free public Wi-Fi at parks and gardens in its resolve to achieve its smart mega city status. The initiative was kick-started at popular the Ndubuisi Kanu Park in Alausa, Ikeja, while others are expected to follow suit, according to the state government. The launch of the initiative is part of activities to mark the 50 year anniversary of the creation of the state. Speaking on the occasion, the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode said the provision of the free Wi-Fi was part of his administration’s effort to make the state work for all and sundry. Represented by the state Commissioner for Science and Technology, Olufemi Odubiyi, the governor stressed that the increased in patronage of parks and gardens spread across the state has prompted the government to equip the centres with free Wi-Fi to serve the needs of visitors to the parks.

Phasing Out Danfo Buses will Create More Jobs - Ambode


The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday allayed fears that plans by his administration to phase out the yellow commercial buses, popularly known as Danfo, would lead to massive job losses, saying that it would instead create more jobs in the transportation sector. Ambode spoke at the May Day Rally held at the Agege Stadium to commemorate the 2017 Workers Day Celebration.
