The first Abuja Yoruba artists Awards held on 20th December 2014 at Jabi lake jabi Abuja, it was organized by Association of Nigeria theatre arts Practioners, Abuja chapter, (ANTP) to celebrate artist that have performed well, The award involved all yoruba artist Practioners in Abuja, the ANTP Abuja Governor Aliyu ilias appreciate all yoruba artist in Abuja for   a job well done in 2014, and also encourage them to raise there game, he also say there will be  training and workshop for all Practioners by February to march 2015 the aim is to train actors Directors, script writers, make up artist, e.t.c‎.

Also the best film for 2014 should be the benchmark for2015 film production,  The awards committee are Mathew popoola and Adeola olusanu, they said the Awards was done on proper analysis and standard.

 

The award started with presentation to the six film that was Rated, 

1.iyawo abuja,

2.Agbaya

3.Tani Arungun Omo

4.Folake omo Iyawere

5.Jagba

6. Agbedemeji.

The awards categories are:

 1.The best actor for 2014 is Aliyu ilias,

 2.the Best actress for 2014- Toyin Ainu

 3.The Best Comedian 2014 - Arowosaye AdeWale (Jekiwongbo)

 4. The Best Film is - Iyawo Abuja

 5. The Best Director is ‎- Ismail Abdulahi (Dodo).

Other Awards are future Artist Awards, it won by Adeomi A.Kayinsola,Afolabi adesola, and Dauda Olawale Respectively, Most Supportive Awards goes to Afternext Media,Waleco Media limited, The entire Yoruba Artist look forward to a prosperous 2015 and they resume February 2015
