Ngige speaks on why Ndigbo should vote for Buhari in 2019

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, has called on the Igbo to support the All Progressives Congress, APC, by voting for President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 general elections. Ngige stated this in Enugu yesterday during the South-East zonal stakeholders’ meeting of the APC.

The minister said if the Igbo vote for Buhari in next year’s election, the South-East will produce Nigeria’s next president in 2023. He said, “I am over 67 years and getting to 68. I cannot deceive myself at this age. President Buhari will win the 2019 election. There is no doubt about it. “Those saying that the North will not vote for Buhari because they are dying of hunger because of him are deceiving themselves.
“Northerners are happy and most of them are into farming because the President has revolutionised agriculture. There is money in agriculture. “There are no northern labourers or Okada (commercial motorcyclists) in Abuja now. “Our people should vote for Buhari so that we can produce the Nigerian president of Igbo extraction in 2023.” The meeting was attended by the minister of science and technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu and the deputy governor of Imo state, Chief Eze Madumere. Others were: the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Chief Osita Okechukwu, Sen. Andy Uba; Sen. C. Ogbunoji; Sen. Ben Uwajumogu; the leader of South-East APC Caucus in House of Representatives, Chief Raphael Igbokwe. Also on attendance were: APC’s National Organising Secretary, Sen. Osita Izunaso; National Auditor, Dr George Moghalu; Deputy National Women Leader, Chief Tina Adike; Sen. Ifeanyi Araraume; Sen. Emma Agboti and Sen. Chris Nwankwo.
