Reject PDP, Vote For APC In 2015 & Get Electricity ––Fashola

Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola, on Friday said uninterrupted power supply could be a reality in the country, adding that the only way to achieve the feat is to vote out the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from power in the forthcoming 2015 elections and vote in the All Progressives Congress, APC.
“I agree with you that it is possible to generate electricity and to make sure that everybody in this country has electricity. I agree with you that it is simple; what we have done in Lagos within the areas where we are constrained shows that it can be done. But the only way that you and I will have electricity in this country will be to vote out the PDP.
“In 16 years, after spending billion of naira, we cannot switch on electricity and in seven years we have created four plants, it shows that something is missing. So, unless you vote for All Progressive Congress it is going to be difficult to have electricity. Buy Cheap Android Phones on Konga.com | Lowest Price in Nigeria

“They started from Vision 2020-20 and I told you then that they were having nightmares; there was no vision. They moved to 7-point agenda and now they are transforming...
“Let me also say that in the last seven years, ask how many new power plants the federal government has commissioned, because sometimes the power that is coming to Lagos at most is 1,000 mega watts; oftentimes it’s 600 mega watts.”
Fashola, who stated this while marking 2,600 days in office at an elaborate ceremony held at the Blue Roof on the Lagos Television premises, said Nigeria's electricity crisis was caused by lack of ideas and insincerity of any form of purpose on the part of the federal government.

Use missing $20bn to provide electricity – Fashola

Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola has told the Federal Government to recover the missing $20bn and use the money to provide 20,000 megawatts of electricity. Fashola said this on Thursday during the inauguration of Addo – Kekere, Lagbasa and Ajah Badore roads in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area.
The governor wondered why it was taking the Federal Government a long time to recover the money that could solve the problem of electricity permanently in the country. He said, “If the Federal Government finds the missing $20bn, we will have constant power supply. I know that if we have $1bn, we will have 1,000 megawatts of electricity in the country. So $20bn is equivalent to 20,000 megawatts.”
Fashola also urged Lagosians to be vigilant and cooperate with relevant agencies to keep the state safe. He added that security had been beefed up in motor parks across the state. Buy Cheap Android Phones on Konga.com | Lowest Price in Nigeria

Fashola said, “This is holiday period, we have to be vigilant. I know a larger per cent of residents of Lagos will be travelling out of the state to celebrate the Easter with their relatives. Others will also be coming into the state.
“I have met with the leaders of the motor parks in the state and we will improve security in motor parks and other public facilities.
“These are difficult times; it is tough and sensible people that survive. Every family and community go through some tough times. And I know that we are tough people and we will survive.
“It is not enough to be tough, we have to be vigilant, sensible and security conscious. We are doing everything that we can to ensure that there is adequate security in the state.”
He urged the residents to continue to live in peaceful coexistence.
The governor, who also inspected some ongoing housing projects in the area, advised the residents to “raise the alarm whenever we discover any strange car in our community.”

Fashola Finally Agrees To Reduse LASU School Fees

A protracted crisis at the Lagos State University over fee hikes that have outraged students and their parents and also led to protests has reached resolution point with Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State now proposing a reduction of the tuition to accommodate everybody. Fashola made the proposal during a meeting with the protesting students. The students, under the auspices of the Education Rights Campaign (ERC), are demanding reversal of the hiked fee. They have staged several rallies and protests to press their case.
After a fruitfuf deliberation, Fashola agreed to reduce the hiked fee. He teased the students and members of the ERC to consult among themselves and propose an acceptable reduction in other to carry all along. One of the protester claimed that, following the controversial hike, the school has continually had a low number of choice applications from candidates in the annual Unified Tertiary Examinations. Report has it that, this year, no disciplinary faculty in the institution has up to 500 students.

“This year, for example, there are only 15 students in the Faculty of Law,” the source said. He added that the institution may be considering the option of merging departments and laying off some of the lecturers due to the unfortunate decline in the number of students wishing to enroll at the university. The government is ready to make sacrifices, considering that Lagos is a big metropolis with large population.
