15-year-old scores highest in 2019 UTME

As the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, released the results of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME, a 15-year-old boy from Abia State emerged the best candidate by scoring 347 marks considered as the highest by board. Similar, a 16-year-old boy from Abia State came second by scoring 346 marks just as a 17 year old from Osun State trailed behind with 345, considered by the board as the third best result in the 2019 UTME. But the Registrar of JAMB, Prof Ishaq Oloyode, who announced this at a media briefing, Saturday, however, said the best candidate may not be admitted in the University of Lagos,which he chose as his first choice because of age.

How to Check UTME 2019 results

The 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, (JAMB) have started trickling in.

The 2019 UTME commenced on Thursday, 11th April across various CBT centres scattered across the country.

 To check the results, candidates are expected to obtain a JAMB result checker card and have their Jamb registration number handy, then follow the instructions below:

 Step 1. Go to JAMB UTME e-Registration Portal here: http://www.jamb.org.ng/efacility
Step 2. When the page loads up, Login and click on the box “Check 2019 UTME Examination Results” Step 3. Your score will be displayed on your computer screen or it will display “You Do Not Have Any Result Yet“. Some candidates will also be able to receive their results via the email and mobile phone numbers used during registrations for the exam. For those who see the message

“You do not have any result yet”, don’t be worried as it is only candidates who have written their examination 1 to 3 days before that are expected to see their results online. Just keep on checking. Note: Avoid the use of wrong email address and password.

JAMB Orders All Institutions To End 2017 Admissions January 25

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Thursday directed all tertiary institutions to end their 2017 admission by January 25. The Board’s Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin said the board’s decision came at a meeting where all issues and ones bordering on the admission process were taken into consideration. He said it was resolved that the academic calendar must be adhered to. According to him, the directive becomes necessary as the board intends to meet up with the academic calendar as earlier agreed. “By implication, candidates who have gained admissions into various institutions and are yet to register or do not have admissions by January 25 should begin to make preparations for the 2018 UTME. “The public must also note that the UTME results are valid for only one year and not three years as widely speculated. “If changes are made to the validity, I assure you the board would communicate appropriately to the public.”

Security operatives in Nasarawa state have arrested a student who came to write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
