Chief coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Salisu Yusuf has been caught on camera taking N360,000 from fake football agents who wanted him to select two players for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
As the chief coach of the Super Eagles, Yusuf is in charge of the Super Eagles home-based side and an assistant to Gernot Rohr for the Super Eagles.
He was in charge of the Super Eagles Team B to the 2017 WAFU and 2018 CHAN where they lost in both finals.

Super Eagles Star, Leon Balogun Unveiled by EPL Club, Shares World Cup Story With Nigeria

Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun, has admitted that representing Nigeria at the just concluded FIFA World Cup in Russia, was a dream come trues after he was unveiled by his new club in the Premier League.
Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun, who was recently signed by Brighton & Hove Albion from Bundes Liga side, FSV 05 Mainz, has been unveiled by the Premier League club.
While speaking to his new club's website, the defender admitted that his appearances at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, were made more significant because of his defiance to make the tournament at the second time of asking.
Balogun was set to feature in the 2014 tournament in Brazil four years earlier, but an unfortunate injury sustained against Mexico ruled him out of the competition at the age of 25.

Bad officiating denied Eagles’ victory – Drogba
Former Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba has said bad officiating led to Nigeria’s ouster against Argentina at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia on Tuesday.
The former Chelsea striker who spoke on BBC One said the referee favoured Argentina unjustly with the decision not to award the second penalty.

Super Eagles land in Volgograd, set to battle Iceland

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have arrived in the southern Russia town of Volgograd ahead of Friday’s win-or-bust FIFA World Cup Group D encounter against Icleand.
The Brazil 2014 Round of 16 berthers flew from their Essentuki base on Thursday morning and were settled in their Hampton-by-Hilton Volgograd Hotel abode a little after 1pm.
Focus has been on the encounter with the Euro 2016 quarter-finalists since the loss to Croatia in Kaliningrad on Saturday, as victory against the feisty Scandinavians will renew hope for a place in the knockout rounds while defeat would mean early and unflattering elimination from the quadrennial showpiece.

World Cup: Magical pig predicts Nigeria will get to semi-finals
Just like the psychic octopus named Paul, which made accurate predictions in the 2010 World Cup, another magical animal, , a pig named Mystic Marcus, has predicted that Nigeria, alongside Belgium, Uruguay and Argentina, will progress to the Semi-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup starting on Thursday in Russia.

Legendary Nigerian footballer, Taribo West has opened up that he saw the spirit of the USA 1994 in the current Super Eagles team when he recently visited their camp, and also provided reasons he believes the team fell 2-1 to England at Wembley last Saturday.
The former defender also opened up on what may be the performance of coach Gernot Rohr’s men when they file out against the Czech Republic this Wednesday afternoon.
The former Eagles star who represented Nigeria at the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, disclosed that the team will put up a better performance against the Czech Republic in Austria on Wednesday.
Taribo, said the Nigerian squad would have learnt from their mistakes against England, saying he expects a more assured outing against the Czechs.

Win 2018 World Cup, get $24m, Pinnick tells Eagles

Amaju Pinnick, the President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has said that the Super Eagles stand the chance of pocketing $24 million if they play in the final of the 2018 World Cup.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the World Cup will hold from June 14 to July 15 in Russia.
Pinnick told newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday at a parley that the money was part of the agreement reached with the players to share 50-50, whatever would accrue to the country if they get to the final and lift the trophy.

Head Coach Salisu Yusuf says his wards will come to the party with their iron gloves when Nigeria confront Sudan in the second semi final of the 5th African Nations Championship in Marrakech on Wednesday.

NFF Pays Eagles Full Bonus, Begins Preparations For Zambia

The Nigeria Football Federation has opted to pay players and officials of the Super Eagles the full match bonus for Monday’s crunchy 2018 FIFA World Cup encounter against the Lions of Cameroon in Yaounde, even though the tie ended in a draw.
NFF President Amaju Pinnick disclosed this to the team on board the ARIK Air Bombadier CRJ 1000 aircraft that flew the Nigerian delegation back from Yaounde on Tuesday morning.
Excited players and officials applauded as Pinnick insisted it was just reward for a masterclass output by the Nigerian squad over the two legs of the most anticipated fixture of Group B.

Ex-Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama Sacked by Lille via Text Message
Super Eagles legendary goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama is one of 11 players of Lille FC in France who have been sent text messages that they are no longer required by the team's new coach.
Former Super Eagles goalkeeper and captain, Vincent Enyeama, is one of 11 players who has been told they are no longer required by new Lille coach, Marcelo Bielsa, BBC Sport reports.
The French club's new Argentine boss has also sent messages to the players saying they are not part of his plans.
Enyeama, who played 101 times for the Super Eagles, only signed a new deal last season.
Ivory Coast's Junior Tallo who was among those sent the sacking text message saying they are not part of the coach's plans, said; "As for me, I'm under contract. I will respect the two years I have left. I'm in no hurry.
"I want to establish myself at Lille. It's the club that wants me to leave. We'll see if they find a solution between now and the end of the transfer window. I'm calm. It's a bit bizarre, but I'm handling it OK.

Ex-soldier slumps, dies after watching Satruday's Super Eagles’ match
A retired soldier of the Nigerian Army, identified as Joseph Oloruntoju, slumped and died on Saturday after watching the Nation’s Cup qualifier between Nigeria and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
The Super Eagles lost 2-0 to the South African side.
Oloruntoju, who was said to have retired from the army as a sergeant, reportedly left his residence at Ajipowo area of Akure and went to the Owena Army Barracks to watch the match along with his friends.
A source described the deceased as an ardent lover of Nigerian football, adding that he slumped shortly after the Eagles conceded the second goal.

I need new players in Super Eagles squad – Rohr
Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has admitted that he still needs new players in the squad.
Rohr especially pointed out the left-back spot, despite the presence of Elderson Echiejile and new call-up Maroof Youssef.

Musa, Iheanacho Show Class in Togo Win
The Super Eagles have massively impressed in a friendly outing with a West African country which took place yesterday.
Nigeria on Thursday beat Togo 3-0 in their friendly match in Paris.
First half goals from Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho helped the Super Eagles win their second warm-up match ahead of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Uyo on June 10. The Nigerians were held to a 1-1 draw in their first friendly game by Corsica in their friendly match in Ajaccio on May 26.
Nigerian coach Gernot Rohr started with IfeanyiUbah goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, in goal with Cyprus-based Abdullahi Shehu, Elderson Echiejile, who captained team, William Troost-Ekong and Chidozie Awaziem in the defence. Portugal-based Mikel Agu, Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi, Feirense’s Oghenekaro Etebo and Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi started in the midfield. Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho started in the attack.
The Togolese were pegged back by the three-time African champions from the start of the match with the Eagles wasting several scoring opportunities.
Pinnick, Aiteo chiefs meet Super Eagles in Paris
President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Second vice-president/LMC chairman Shehu Dikko and top officials from Aiteo Group, paid a visit to the Super Eagles’ Hyatt Regency Hotel camp in Paris yesterday.
The NFF and Aiteo Group signed a landmark five-year partnership agreement five weeks ago, which made the energy solutions company optimum partner of the federation.
The company’s Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Francis Peters and the Group Executive Director (Corporate Services/General Counsel), Barrister Andrew Obinna Onyearu, were with Pinnick and Dikko.

Super Eagles skyrocket to 38th position in FIFA ranking

Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up to 38th position in latest FIFA ranking released Thursday, June 1, 2017. The team's last match was a 1 - 1 draw with Corsica which was played on Friday, May 26.
The Eagles are now two steps above the 40th position they occupied in May. The Eagles will play Togo on Thursday, June 1st and later South Africa on June 10th in Uyo in an AFCON 2019 Qualifier.
